Description: Classically masculine features such as a strong jaw and a firm brow distinguish this man's face, with a nose of a rounded point and medium lips framed by what some would call a short-cropped beard and others would just call stubble. His hair is red, deep and dark, almost brown to look at casually. His eyes are a smoky grey, but occasionally they catch the light and look ever so slightly blue.

As for body, he's almost impossibly fit, that's plain to see from the way he wears his clothes. He tends towards something of a colorful ensemble, though mainly greens, browns, black, and occasionally white and its adjacents. His shirts are typically loose-fitting and blousy, his pants usually a bit more tailored...unless he opts for the extremely loose-fitting and casual. Occasionally, he doesn't bother wearing shoes. But most of the time, he can be seen in durable and pleasing brown or black boots.

The various jewelry he wears may make him easier to pick out to those familiar with him. He usually sports bracelets on each wrist, mostly rope-woven and handmade, and these are matched by the various necklaces he wears from time to time. Sometimes he'll wear all metal, if he can get it. Both ears are pierced, and he is almost never seen without at least something small in them.

Personality: Tomas hides a passionate heart with a fairly chill exterior. Most people who meet him just think he's a trinket-seller or pleasant enough company. They might even see him as a romantic or artistic soul; certainly, he has an aesthetic sense, and he can understand some concepts that the insensitive simply cannot comprehend. Sometimes, he seems like he's profoundly insightful. Other times, he's blinded by his worldly ambitions and desires. He's very human, even if sometimes his spirit seems to echo fragments of wisdom he only gradually understands.

Background: Born of the North, Tomas's family came to Arx quietly enough and made their lives. When young Tomas learned about some of the rest of his family, though, he expressed a strong desire to return to the lands of his forebears. Repeated refusal did little to dissuade him, and eventually he managed to steal away.

He was not, at that time, particularly skilled at survival outside of a city, so it was very fortunate that a band of Ravashari found him when they did...and even more fortunate that they were sympathetic to his heartfelt appeal. It may have been luck, or may have been total invention, that the group boasted two aunts, an uncle, and various cousins to him. Either his parents had been trying to hide this from him, or it was made up to excuse his presence; either way, he ended up spending some time with these people and growing close to them. Eventually, it didn't matter much if they were related, because they treated each other as if it were a fact.

He never found other relations in the travels of his band of benefactors, though he did learn things. When his group chose to stay in one place for an extended time, Tomas was prompted to return to the city. He had a feeling, and he would have to pursue it, to see if it really was the right choice. He bid his family farewell and set out, perhaps unwisely on foot, towards the city of Arx.

After some close calls, a possibly portentious dream or two (but maybe just less-than-fresh food), and some soul-searching, he finally returned to the grand city he had called home for several years in his younger days. Now he knew enough to get by alone, but maybe he would be able to find his parents and talk to them. Or, maybe not.

Name Summary
Samuele I do wonder what what his thoughts on the world are, but... he intrigues me in other ways as well.
