Lady Ivy Riven
Ugh. Animals are so much more reliable than people.
Description: Like all of the Blackram line, Ivy stands over six feet tall with a sturdy, athletic build. Sharp of face but soft of feature, her eyes are an arresting shade of pale spring green that seem at odds with her generally stern countenance. Her face is framed by rich black hair streaked through with sun-lightened ruddy highlights, its length perhaps a few inches below her shoulders. Often windswept and touseled, she doesn't seem to have much interest in taming the strands. The rest of her features are rather standard, though pleasingly arranged.
Her 'style', if it can be called that, absolutely tends towards durability and comfort over fashion. Linens, wools, and leathers with little adornment or accessorization in House colors or earthen tones. Even in the warmest of weather, she has a tendency towards long sleeves and keeping fully covered, preferring to sweat than to bare skin.
Personality: Ivy is one who lives in the moment despite her capability to plan for the future. Gruffly caring, her bedside manner leaves much to be desired but the results tend to speak for themselves. She has a tendency towards impulsiveness, terseness, and a clear discomfort for confined spaces and crowds. When forced into social interactions, she has a tendency towards impatience towards required etiquette that can be mistaken for rudeness.
Background: Born the youngest child of the youngest sibling to the ruling line of Blackram, Ivy is secure in the knowledge of her relative unimportance to the continuance of the family line. It also allowed her the luxury of largely doing as she pleased growing up. Oh she attended her lessons and learned all the usual subjects for a lady of a noble family. She also escaped every chance she got to go racing around the Cloudspine, especially with the goatherds. Blackram's goats fascinated her since her youth, especially those bred towards size and power. Bullying those in charge of them into teaching her the vastly fascinating subject of war-goat training, Ivy was a quick study.
While she has some basic skill with polearms, she would never count herself a soldier, vastly preferring the commonsense healing techniques learned in the stables. When her talent for medicine became known, her mother was quick to have her train with the Mercies, grooming her towards joining them. Ivy disappointed her mother in that, her bedside manner not up to standards despite their best efforts. She returned happily to the Cloudspine and the goats, bringing in more training that she applied towards the care of the animals. There Ivy would have stayed, too, had it not been for the growing popularity of the goats in Arx. She set forth to handle their care personally, leaving the bulk of the herd in the capable hands of the Blackram goatherds.
