Dame Felicia Harrow

Some walk softly and use gentle means to open their doors. I kick the thing off its hinges.

Titles: The Death Knight

Description: Green eyes, dark as emeralds in firelight and limned in black. A wealth of natural copper hair bound in a braid and kept back from her brow by a circlet. Felicia's not a beauty in the traditional sense of the word. With a scar that marks her left cheek and notches her nose in a horizontal stripe, but there's a confidence in the way she carries herself; a sharpness to her eyes and a smile that frequently teases about her broad-lipped mouth that lends itself to being noticed. Broad-shouldered and well muscled, she is clearly a creature of martial prowess.

Personality: Frequently Felicia is larger-than-life in most regards. Big gestures, big words, and big actions. Where most people would seek to quietly open a door to sneak in on an enemy, Felicia is the sort to boot down the door with a shout, before charging into the teeth of her enemies. It isn't out of some foolish ideal to prove herself, but simple confidence in oneself. She understands however that while she conducts herself as a knight of the King's Own, she must adhere to and acknowledge the professionalism demanded of representing the Sovereign's loyal protectors. As a result she can often be found to be as professional as she can be given her limited instruction as a Lower Borough-born commoner elevated to knighthood and granted the extreme honor of serving within the King's Own. When she's off-duty however she knows how to cut loose, enjoy a strong drink, and never turns down a friendly brawl. When she chooses a path, she walks it with strength and confidence in herself.

Background: With ancestors who were Prodigal and growing up in the Lower Boroughs, life was far from easy for Felicia. Despite the hardships that the family faced, she and her ancestors did willingly serve the Crown in the form of the Iron Guard. Her great-grandfather, grandfather, grandmother, all the way down to Felicia and one of her other siblings. Service has been something which the family has conducted with stringent adherence to the simple concept: to integrate and find acceptance, one must be willing to serve. And serve the family has, for a number of generations in concurrence.

It was only recent history when a fire broke out in the Ward of the Crown one evening while Felicia and a small number of the Iron Guard were on patrol. A home within the palace's ward was on fire and the majority of the Iron Guard in her presence froze. Notably at least one of them ran off to raise the alarm, but the rest stood marvelling at the flames. Felicia didn't have time for that, she wanted to get home and attend to her little garden, and have a stiff drink. She put boot to door and disappeared inside. Over the course of nearly ten minutes and multiple trips, Felicia was able to recover at least a half dozen nobles from indoors ranging from small children to adults. Covered in soot and reeking of smoke, Felicia had put herself at enormous personal risk on a whim.

As happens when people of merit put themselves at risk for little noticeable gain, it gained the notice of some. In this case it was someone intimately familiar with the Ward of the Crown and that at least held a tacit relationship with the Iron Guard through mutual service. The First Captain at the time of the King's Own, Rymarr, reached out to Felicia. An offer was made, an offer was questioned. She was no knight and the King's Own were a collection of talented knights of varying degrees of skill but most assuredly known for their many acts of bravery and valor throughout the centuries. Rudimentary training was provided by a number of noteworthy names within the King's Own, prior to Felicia taking her oath. Bringing her to speed for the Silver Swords, instilling in her the importance of their duty, their professionalism, and ultimately the demand for their unified front again threats to the Crown.

The price was high, without a doubt, but Felicia became Dame Felicia Harrow. Cast aside some of her obligations and ties beyond the King's Own, but in doing so earned the ability to call herself a knight of the King's Own. Which has also had the fortunate side effect of rarely wanting for at least basic needs. The palace baths? Too die for. Palace food? Amazing. The past few months has been completely worth the need to lay her life on the line in protection of the Sovereign.

  • Name Summary
Aahana A wonderfully knowledgable Messere who I look forward to getting to know more away from the Gala
Adalyn Impressive combatant! I have much to learn.
Adrienne I joined Dame Felicia by happenstance during a lecture at the Shrine of the Queen of Endings. She has a matter-of-fact manner about talking about things that shouldn't exist: candid, patient, and understanding. She also wields a beautiful sword.
Aethan Managed to fell my brother with one stroke. Impressive.
Agatha (OOC, I kept typing +fistimpression/all Felicia. I think this says a great deal about our spectactular future together) We are going to be GREAT FRIENDS after we met drinking at the dead bird bar! We will be tall and SO RED together, and we should save to get her rubicund armor. We could be legends some day. Let us be legends. HAH!
Aiden She seems to have extensive knowledge in areas that are important to understand. Possibly an ally to speak with privately.
Ainsley Her hair! She and her brother have such glorious hair.
Ainsley Self assured and duty-bound. Ainsley feels like he could learn a lot from her.
Alaric A knight from one of the Boroughs' longest-established families, she is as valiant as they come. Always runs a smooth shift as guard captain, and is excellent company besides. Decent wrestler, too.
Alarissa Dame Felicia of the Kings Own, jouster for Alarissa's honour. Well, her armor's honour. Alarissa likes that little streak of pride that hovers just below the surface. Oh yes.
Alban An interesting meeting. A piece of bait placed that drew in someone unintended. Still, there is honor in her, and I very much wish to help her bring light to the shadows of her past.
Alessandro Anyone who carries a flask to a ball in their corset has my full approval, provided they are not averse to sharing.
Amarantha A remarkably patient person. I'm so sorry she had to see me drunk out of my mind during our first meeting. I'll never forget her goat pun.
Apollo She's got some AMAZING skills with horses.
Arianna Dame Felicia is a friend of Violet's and that makes me like her already. I've heard good things about her but that's not surprising seeing as she's of the One Hundred. King's Own are no joke, I've seen that much for myself.
Arik An honorable woman with talents at battle. I see why she is King's Own. She has anger issues, but I understand this.
Armani Cheerful! Seems like good company thus far. She drinks whiskey too.
Arthen This woman is definitely, probably not a secret Duchess. That's a point in her favor, I would say. She feels taller than she actually is. There's a presence to her. But it doesn't keep her from blushing. All in all, a charming person in quiet ways.
Astraea She's really fun, I can tell from the way she's quick to laugh and smile. Tough one from the looks of it, but I look forward to it!
Aswin She seems able enough to handle herself. Not bad with a blade either. Sometime when times are more casual I wouldn't mind sparring her.
Barric An unfortunate time to meet, and a slip on my part for even bothering to react to what another said. I hope sometime to repair the damage and test her skill with the blade myself.
Brady Quite an interesting woman. I've got a slew of questions to ask her.
Cadenza Sweet....but hits like a mule's kick. I love it. Can't wait to spar her again.
Caith She is AMAZING. She is the King's personal knight and she's TALL and COMMANDING and can KICK *ahem* BUTT and .. *siiiiiighs* she's just so neat.
Calandra This woman can leap higher than almost anything I've ever seen! She's clearly at least half-bird! I'm glad her hair didn't burn off. It's beautiful!
Caspian A woman I've seen around and finally got to meet! She seems nice, a warrior type, never can be short of those.
Clara Next ta her brother she seems entirely sane. I like her. Would like ta meet her again.
Cleo She is a strong woman, very friendly, but also very private. She has many things in her mind, she should share maybe and grow stronger in the sharing by not trying to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders.
Coraline Ohh another lady knight! I like her! Maybe she can teach me stuff....
Cullen One of the King's Own. A strong knight who clearly knows what duty and honor are about, and I appreciate her words about Eirlys, few would understand as well, I suspect. Someone that is the kind of person others should look up to. Ought to not allow the king to make puns, though.
Cullen An extremely skilled member of the King's Own and a knight in every sense of the word. Intelligent and cognizant of many mysteries, she's also a very good wrestler and rider, as it turns out.
Dante Polite, quiet, but fun. And in good with the royalty. I don't know a thing about her other than I long to hear her whisper words of poetry in foreign tongues and that she represents the flash of green one might witness on such rare occassion when the sun crests the curved ocean's horizon.
Decius She looks good with a blade, but how am I one to tell. Still she was entertaining to watch, especially after a few rounds of wine.
Delilah There are so, so many ways I could begin talking about Dame Felicia. Harrowhall has been a big part of my life and she knows a lot. A whole lot. But she's just as much a mystery, and having finally met her, I'm left even more lost and confused.
Dominique A relaxing King's Own! Oh goodness! She seems a bit melancholy, I hope that the spirits can lift her spirit. (See what I did there?)
Domonico Always ready for battle it seems, the scars on this woman speak for her combat experience and they speak loud.
Duarte Well practiced knight and dedicated to her cause.
Echo A splendid warrior who likely keeps a few tricks up her sleeves. Confident, headstrong, and determined. I am very fortunate to have her on my side.
Ectorion Seems to avoid getting in close to social situations and crowds, not that I can much blame her. More comfortable watching the group than being part of it.
Elara I had met the Dame under unfortunately tense circumstances the first time. Upon meeting her again in more relaxed I find her enjoyable. And I did then, for she handled herself well. I would like to make a friend of her.
Eleanor She's one of those people who seems very much like themselves. I bet we could have fun together!
Emily A woman of rich history and warm disposition makes for a great conversationalist. I have to admit I find her company far more measured and comfortable than many of the nobles I have come to know. I would be remiss in saying that I look forward to finding ways to speak with her again.
Evaristo Dame Felicia is someone I admire deeply - her knowledge and experience is extraordinary.
Ezekiel She did quite seem to enjoy my music! And she is such an intimidating looking woman. I hope she will tell me some of her stories.
Ezra She's a commoner who use to be noble apparently and has intentions to reclaim her lands. She doesn't seem bitter about this and it's possible it's because she didn't know differently or perhaps because she's felt like she's had other things to occupy her time. You think it's probably the second as she appears to be something of an authority figure with little time to dwell on the past.
Faye A direct and forthright woman, dedicated to her own work, seeming to be much after my own heart. I certainly have a few questions I'd like to ask her.
Gareth Amiable but carries herself like a stern warrior suitable to her position. Her very air says she belongs right where she is.
Gianna Dame Felicia Harrow reminds me of the heroes of legend. I'm sure she has some very interesting stories to tell, though I don't think I've actually seen her speak all that much.
Gilroy Check out the vertical on the Dame in steel!
Giulio Perhaps a mite brash, but, certainly with a good head on their shoulders. It will be very interesting working with her in the future. I simply hope that steel is a last resort for her.
Harlex Amantha's older sister. Looks like she'll live up to her praise. Won’t know, of course, until I fight her.
Ian She's good at what she does.
Ignacio Dame Harrow held her own with Princess Agatha. Everytime I watch her pick up a sword, it is an impressive showing.
Ilira The kind of coarse and sturdy I welcome, she spares little time for idle decorum or pleasantries, with a way about her I like. Lands a fabulous pommel strike, too.
Imi I miss having Dame Felicia around the tower. She was always someone you could go to. But I'm glad to see that hasn't changed even if she's been released from her vows.
Isidora Amazing jouster. An honor to see her ride.
Itzal Yet ANOTHER King's Own met, really at this point I might just as well just meet the whole hundred. She was excellent company, and possibly an old acquaintance! Hopefully to meet again, in similarly off-duty circumstances. Or I could go sing to the king.
Jacque Dame Felicia Harrow. Friendly, agreeable sort. I've seen her in acouple of occasions and she has just as much of an aptitude for art as I do. Which is to say, I think she's a little better than me at it. And she's friends with the Archlector of Jayus.
Jasher After seeing her performance in the melee, I suppose she is someone I could respect on a true battlefield.
Jeffeth A Dame of considerable skill and kind temperment. She is a good woman, I consider it an honor every time I get to speak with her.
Jordan She hits really hard and has a daredevil's affectations to her style. I enjoyed fighting Dame Harrow and hope to see more of this King's Own Knight.
Jyri A Harrow, and a good one. Hope to meet again - maybe a sparr sometime.
Kaede One of the King's Own, which must mean a lot here. Seems like a good fighting. Good conversation.
Karadoc Dame Felicia Harrow. She's a knight -- obviously -- and a member of the King's Own. She's also a glazier, from what Lucita's told me, and she has been working with the Saikland Greens glassworks. I think. Although, I could be wrong. (I'm wrong a lot, eh.) It matters that one of the Baroness-Regent's allies ought to be mine, all the same.
Kenna A great sense of humor and absolutely easy to talk to. Fake bears < Real Bear Hunt though!
Kritr A fierce fighter, once one of the King's Own, now a Queen's Blade, whatever that is.
Laric Her reputation precedes her, certainly, but so do her deeds.
Lorenzo A beautiful, kind, exciting woman whose strength impresses me more each day. What does the future have in store for us? I don't know, but I'm curious to find out.
Lou She rode as Alarissa's champion in the duel over the prettiest armor between she and Prince Rook. I must say this Dame has skills, and I would never want to be on the wrong end of one of her jousts!
Lucita Dame Felicia of the Kings Own and someone who makes things from glass. Amicable, pleasant natured, lively conversation and coping with a brother in mischief, something I have to do too! I look forward to seeing more of her.
Luis A King's Own and with the skills to be proud of that position. Steady, strong, and tough as nails, it wasn't until Luis had already committed that he quickly realized his grevious error. Witty and fun. Someone great to have at your back during a battle, and equally so at the tavern afterward.
Lumen It seems odd that a King's Own should be allowed to act as head of household, even for a Commoner clan. That said, she certainly has my respect and esteem.
Mabelle A tease -and- can put men on their behinds? She's my new favorite person.
Macda Bold and will make a statement worth consideration. Nothing not to like about that.
Marcas An interesting one. An Iron Guard that drinks, talks, and fights like a Northerner. Even has the red hair to go with it. Spoke of some very interesting tales, she's clearly a repository of knowledge, I ought to get her to tell more stories next I see her.
Margerie She was one of my fellow competitors at the Marching competition at the Rally. What an impressive spirit! She seems valiant and kind.
Marian She's an excellent fighter. She took almost took Agatha down in a quick and efficient manner. I should keep an eye on this one. She might even surpass me some day.
Marius Dame Felicia seems nice. I hope continued exposure to my sister will not corrupt her.
Medeia If I ever need someone to carry me somewhere, and my husband is unavailable for the task, it appears that Dame Felicia would be a more than adequate replacement for the task.
Merek A glassworker I have met a couple of times. She is nice, and also her work is wonderful. I am hopeful that we can become friends perhaps.
Mirari A pleasant woman who has relatable views on stabbing people. Sometimes the best way to get a point across is with a sharp blade.
Monique She's beautiful and strong and I find it very difficult to keep my eyes off of her.
Niklas A knight of the King's Own. Had a good sense of humor about my attempts to participate in her dedication day contests.
Norwood Dame Felicia is a force to be reckoned with in all areas. I would be more than happy to stand by her side in battle.
Oswyn Like a hero from the stories. Good stories.
Petal She seems like she has her wits about her. I am glad she is here! She is calm under pressure and sounds intelligent.
Pharamond A warrior with a sense of humor. Still not going to be challenging her to anything anytime soon. I'd definitely rather make her laugh than make her angry...
Quenia A gracious member of the King's Own who also offered to help me with the haunts of Igniseri. I look forward to getting a better chance to talk to her about that matter, as it is surely concerning.
Reese A knights of the King's Own, great at darts and handles herself with grace.
Reigna A stalwart and true knight of the Kings Own, who acted with honor and duty. No higher praise can I give her.
Rinel I don't know if she's actually made of stone or just hits like it. Ow.
Romulius Rum is superior to Whiskey, but, she has many lovely scars and a kind demeanor for one of the King's Own. I think we could be fast friends, given time.
Rook One of the Hundred and a skilled jouster! She is a marvellous choice for a Champion and chosen by the Princess Consort Alarissa Thrax herself.
Sabella Dame Harrow is incredibly intimidating when she is following Alaric around, but one on one is quite delightful! She scored a few lovely items at the clothing exchange and her events at the dedication were just the most fun I've had in a long time! She is brave and clever and wonderful!
Sabella Dame Felicia is of course known far and wide for her work with the King's Own and I have her to thank for my increasing respect for them as she once threw a tournament where I had to walk around wearing weighted pads as if they were armor and climb a tower! Needless to say I spent most of the time laying flat on my back unable to move at all, but it was a keen life lesson I have never forgotten and am now sure everyone made the right choice in not pushing me to become a fighter of any kind! But more to the point, she is quite smart, a strong warrior, and a lovely conversationalist!
Samantha The Dame is a sentimental one and for good reason. Rymarr saw in her what he likely saw in himself. She is one of those people he will continue to live through long after his death.
Saoirse This is NOT a lady, Skye. Knight Skye. She was careful to correct the title, so Saoirse will be careful to afford her the proper honorific.
Scipio Big sister. What else is there to say, really?
Scipio My eldest sister. She has not changed since we were children. Matured. Grown. Yes. But I still see the same fire in her that I did when we were young. The same dedication to her ideals.
Simone A pleasantly surprising woman and much more fun than expected! I anticipate that we will get along very well.
Snow She is intimidating and interesting. I am curious to know more of her life.
Sorrel This woman is an amazing fighter, and one of the King's Own. It's really nice to spar with her, either alongside her or against her. She takes her job seriously, but that's a good thing in my book. Definitely someone I hope to see more of in the future.
Thea A very formidable opponent. And gracious. And one I would certainly enjoy sitting down to have a drink with. I enjoyed her quite a bit.
Theron Dame Felicia Harrow. King's Own, and so that likely means she's a good fighter. I look forward to sparring her, sometime.
Thesarin Reckon she has her head set straight, and her heart in the right spot, what I've seen. Hope she lives the week.
Triton A mean right hook and a great spirit. A woman I think that would have a lot of good stories and be nice to sit down and have a drink with.
Tynan Dame Felicia has risen from the Lowers to become a Knight of the King's own. That is impressive on it's own, but she is also pleasant company and with a sense of humor, something that knights in general could have more of.
Valarian Same old big sister I've always remembered. Strong, supportive, smart. And still adhering to the rules far too closely, alas. She needs to do more things for herself, it would do her some good. Serving the Crown? Thankless. Bunch of ingrates, they don't deserve her.
Valdemar She sounds like a very knowledgeable warrior. I'd be curious to see her in action.
Venturo A whiskey drinker. Whiskey! Well, as long as she continues to spend time with Lorenzo and visit the brewery, there is hope that she'll fully see the light of ale. Maybe. Hey, it could happen!
Vercyn So this is the "Little Red" to Princess Agatha's "Big Red". Interesting contrast! Blushes more than what I would come to expect though, based on what Agatha said of her.
Veronica I had a much longer conversation with Dame Felicia this time, and I learned quite a bit more about her... moreso than I expected. I am impressed with her forthrightness, her willingness to put herself at risk for the greater good. In more ways than one, she reminds me of myself!
Victus King's Own and saw me at the best of my drunken states. Though really I'd believe anything that happened that night if someone told me it convincingly enough. Maybe she knows how to ford a river across a fucking wood floor.
Viktor King's Own. She is far more learned than I on the history of Arx. From stories she is a great warrior too. Perhaps some day I will be able to make her a sword or armor so she can continue to do good work.
Violet A pleasant woman of the King's Own. Friendly and charming, I actually hope to spend more time and get to know her more. We may be at different ends of the battle field, but I feel we are a lot alike.
Wash Dedicated and sensible, more concerned with results than appearances.
Willow Fascinating. Knows a lot about a lot of things I am interested in. I would love to pick her brain.
Zara Not a great one in telling a lie. But her truths are very very interesting. I hope to pull her aside and ask her more. Death's Palace? Wow..
Zoey Her words reach farther than I could ever hope to.
