Talen is focused on the security of the Lyceum in the run up to a resolution to Niccolo's assumption of power. With Isolde's support of her father, Eleyna's focus on schmoozing the rich merchants and lesser nobility, the Sword has established the Mirrorguard and is seeking loyal guards to join.
Purposefully kept small to encourage a tight, trustworthy unit, the order will not reach beyond ten of the hundred soldiers allowed by House Velenosa in Arx. They'll be made up from longstanding members of the Velenosa guard, loyal individuals from Caith, Lenosian die-hards and any PCs that he recruits (once we set up an @org!).
The idea is to get across the vibe that Isolde and her heirs are going to be well protected, especially while Niccolo holds regency in his temporary capacity as Archduke, to try and quell any loud voices about 'what happens' if that line is usurped via murder. We got this, yo.
Result
We gots you, fam. The Mirrorguard suggestion helps quite a bit. It assuages that particular worry, though the, 'Hey why are we passing over her to begin with' is still a quibble.
