Description: Ylva is pretty, going on cute, with bright eyes and a soft smile. She is small, short and slim, but not fragile, a healthy flush coming easily to her fair, lightly sun-kissed features. She is either in perfect content stillness or in restless awkward motion. There is very little in-between. In motion, she walks on the balls of her feet, talks with her slender hands, bends this way and that like a sapling in the wind. At rest, she is primly contained.
Personality: Ylva is friendly, kind, unassuming, and cares a lot. She is a Mercy for a reason. She is also inquisitive, playful, occasionally inappropriate, and, some would say, a little too easily distracted from her duties. And yet, underneath her sweet and flighty demeanor, there is at times a stony focus in her eyes to serve as a reminder that one can crack one's teeth on a piece of candy.
Background: Ylva comes from a family who for generations served House Aviaron in Aviaron's Peak. Her father was a knight, her mother worked in the kitchens. She was a clever but rambunctious child, and when she was inevitably grounded and forbidden to explore the tunnels or the mountains or befriend mountain goats, she'd sneak around and bother people with a torrent of polite and softly-spoken questions.
Her father died in the Silent War, and she decided to become a Mercy, beginning to study in earnest. Ylva was very eager to care for people. Looking at their insides was only a secondary and very icky benefit. Meanwhile, her lieges changed, but her family's service did not.
Ylva then wandered afield, assisting other Mercies, but rarely straying too far from home. However, one fair day, she decided to come to Arx. There's no better place to learn how to be a better healer, there's all kinds of war and strangeness afoot, and there are many people in dire need of assistance! Now in Arx, she can confirm it's all true, especially the strangeness afoot.
