Description:
A gaunt, cadaverous man with a short beard and hair, all of which is a silvery-white. Dressed in dark robes, he wears a chain about his neck that indicates he occupies a high station in the Redrain household. He tends to walk and move slowly, but it appears this is out of deliberation rather than disability. With icy-blue eyes and a hooked nose, he casts a stern, severe gaze that suggests that few things go beyond his notice. To top it off, his basso profundo voice puts a grave note on everything he says.

Personality:
The embodiment of Everwinter's cold certainty, Grim's personality lives up to his name. Everything he does seems deliberate and calculated. Everything he says seems to carry the icyness of the North. He has scraped and politicked his way through the common ranks of the Redrain household, and, for the past fifteen years, used his indomitable will and unerring acumen to run House Redrain's commoner entourage efficiently. To outsiders, his demeanor is, in equal parts, merciless and harsh; to those he's sworn allegiance, marginally less so.

Background: He grew up a servant: the son of an Abandoned woman who bent the knee as a prodigal as part of a brokered peace with House Redrain. From the cradle to the stable, Grim worked the shit-jobs -- stablehand, scullery boy -- until he became a teenager. A skilled servant from the start, he presumed and assumed that he would always be a servant, but avowed, after surviving the harsh winters of the Arvum North, that he would become a lord amongst them.

Through guile and cunning, Grim made his way up through the ranks until he began to serve Lord Sherrod and Princess Drea directly, as a messenger and secretary. House Redrain continued to rise to prominence, which forced many of the ranking nobles to divert their attention to courtly politics. And as herald to the household, Grim's position permitted him to engineer the rise of allies and fall of enemies. When the last Seneschal passed, the choice of successor was obvious.

Grim has been House Redrain's Seneschal and chief Steward for almost fifteen years. He keeps a keen eye and firm grasp on the Redrain household, ensuring that it works properly, efficiently, and conscientiously. Privately, Grim sees himself as a commoner's champion, ensuring that no one starves or suffers unless deserved. House Redrain's servants revere and revile him in equal parts, but there are few that would speak out against his judgment and plans. Grim's stern, severe demeanor -- accentuated by his height and appearance -- serve as a reminder of House Redrain's northern roots, and the icy brutality needed to maintain power in their realm.
