Lady Gloriel Bisland
What is to give light must first endure the burning.
Description: With her sultry hazel eyes cast out towards a dismal world, Gloriel's is a tragic sort of beauty. Sinewy muscle has come to replace the smooth, tender dark skinned flesh of the woman she once was. Her hands and heart, once soft from a lifetime of pampering, have calloused in the training yards of Pridehall and in the woodlands surrounding Arx.
Personality: This former prisoner of her own overpowering emotions is virtually unrecognizable to close family and friends from the person she once was. She's now plagued with frequent, distant gazes out over the horizon and shallow, woeful sighs. Though many of Gloriel's inclinations tend to towards morbidity nowadays, there's at least very few things that can frighten her.
Background: There was a time in her life, very recently in fact, when Gloriel might have only needed gossip and ball gowns to sustain her. The frivolities of courtly life were the only bread and butter she needed! Charming and vivacious, she was accomplished in all things beautiful, leisurely, and superficial.
The Bringers of Silence changed all of that. By some wicked form of trickery or deficiency of prudence, Gloriel and two of her sisters found themselves in a then-prohibited section of the Gray Forest surrounding Arx. Whatever the young women's scheme, Shavs under the influence of the Silent Army made short work of finding them. As to the rest? All that is known for sure is that while Gloriel escaped with her life, Sarielle and Lili did not.
Ushered off to her childhood home of Pridehall, Lady Gloriel's recovery was a harrowing one. For nearly a year, she dared not utter a single word and even after finally being coaxed into speaking by those charged with her care, it was never of that fateful day.
With time came metamorphosis. She returned to Arx as a warrior forged in her great loss, ready to face ghosts of her past, face new challenges, and if possible, to win glory.
