Oswald Pennington's Outrage

Posted by Apostate on 06/28/18
A prominent merchant named Oswald Pennington, of the Pennington Merchant House, had his house broken into and robbed "by individuals of supernatural skill and talent." The blustering merchant sputters in outrage demanding the Inquisition make it their TOP PRIORITY, as clearly it was the work of demons or elves or something, as his house was like a fortress and the intrusion all but impossible. Of course, when the Inquisition actually investigates, they found the windows of his upper floor didn't even have locks, that it was a pretty easy jump from the next building over, that no one was even home at the time, and that he left money just lying around and bragged about his wealth often. It ain't easy being in the Inquisition, and this is why Shreve ruled through fear.
