Against all odds and expectations, Prince Victus Thrax -- High Lord of the Mourning Isles, the Usurper of Maelstrom -- made a stunning declaration at the Assembly of Peers committing the entirety of the Mourning Isles to the abolishment of the institution of thralldom over the course of seven years. It is an unprecedented move to dismantle the last vestiges of slavery in the Compact, and one that is greeted by monumental approval by the other four Great Houses and their vassals, who have long disapproved of the practice.
