Blackrose Theatre Presents

Posted by Herja on 11/16/21
The Blackrose Theater is well known for it's diverse and unique performances; thus the Spectacular Spectacle was one not to miss! Truthfully it will be talked about for the rest of the season and may inspire more events of its kind! The performances were high thrill and tension packed, filled with seductive and awe inspiring talents!

The Opening Night was well attended and saw some big names in the audience, like the High Inquisitor, The Eye of Maelstrom, Nightingale of the Bard's College and the Crown Minister of Coin! The act began with the Notorious Songwriter, Lord Savio, teasing the crowds with what was to come.

The first act was performed by the The Glass Butterfly, Nina Autumndale, who danced with fire wasn't trying to burn down the house with her display of a called 'breath of a dragon' but some were undoubtedly afraid! Her act was followed by a Ravashari Performer and new to the Blackrose stage, Lord Mattheu Rivenshari. He played a violin and his act drummed up heartbeats that chimed with each bell bobble from body shake. The third performance that struck up cheers from the crowd was a group entry called the Band of Blades, with their Dance of Daggers. The performers were combination of Lady Monique, Ilira Whisper, Cesare Whisper, and Lore Artiglio - but no one knows who threw the knives and who caught them. Yet it was the duo of Cesare and Ilira dancing caught the imagination of many! The fourth was a mystery woman new to the city and from the South called Saffron, who charmed the crowd with a snake dance and not just any snake dance! She wrapped herself in it and danced with it, churning hips and heads. The enigma surrounding who she is, has become a favorite game on the lips of socialites.

The final act was a stunt that left audiences gripping the seat of their chairs and bracing for tragedy! After a skit, Orland Amadeo was hung by his feet, chained, and belted with a potato sack over him. Not only that, but he was lowered into a tank of water! When audiences thought his husband had committed the young lord to his watery grave, he proved to come up with a daring and dramatic escape, grinning and waving to the audience!

Among the audience members eager to return to the Theater, many are intrigued about how the Lord accomplished the trick. Their curiosity about the escape act has led many to start calling an escape artist or escape from impossible situations an "Amadeo."
