Lady Khanne Halfshav, Archscholar Bianca Wyrmguard, and Prince Dominic Thrax spend some time trying to safeguard the forces fighting the Gyre against the madness that afflicts his servants, and rumored darker powers. While Khanne stays in Arx, she helps craft runes and protective charms to those who wish to carry them, and Dominic helps carve Eurusi wards in the hulls of many of the ships. Archscholar Bianca tours the isles, spending time with priests of the pantheon and seeing that stores of holy water are stocked, and creates mounts an ember of the Eternal Flame of Lagoma in a lantern on each flagship. None of the Compact forces go mad, which is genuinely viewed as a sign of rousing success.
