Player Written Rosters and PrPs

Right now, given system constraints, trying to create roster PCs is exceedingly difficult and complicated. Together with having to adjust almost every player submitted roster that we get in order to make it both thematic and interesting enough for players to pick up and play, each player submitted roster often takes hours of discussion, writing, and then fiddling with the system code in order to create. As of right now, we don't see this as a productive use of staff time when we could be spending that time responding to requests, GMing, approving applications, or creating story.

We are currently working on a system for more easily vetting rosters and OCs, but we are likely several months out from being able to announce what the new system is going to look like. Until then, it is highly unlikely that we will be looking at player written rosters. If you submit one, understand that it won't be looked at for awhile. We are really hoping that the new system will make the creation of fun and thematic characters a lot easier for both players and staff.

PrPs are also undergoing a facelift. We have already mentioned that we are not currently approving new PrP requests. Staff is working hard on a new set of guidelines that will clarify what works as a player run plot and what will need staff intervention. We are also looking to cut down on some of the sandboxing that we have seen crop up in some PrPs that stray from what was approved when they are GMed. This is a process, though. Any request sent out about PrPs is being delayed until we have a better idea of what this entire process looks like going forward. Anything that has already been approved can still be GMed, but anything new will have to wait a few more weeks until we can announce the new guidelines.

I know there are a lot of changes happening, but anything we do is in the effort to make the game better and make your experience more fun.
