To the Faithful of Arvum,
I understand that the events of the past few days have been troubling and heartbreaking. It is difficult, I am certain, to understand how three hundred or so Scholars came to be killed or arrested in this violent act of apparent vigilantism. It has shaken us, as Scholars, to the core. While it can certainly be said that there were events in play here that required action, most certainly, that these acts were carried out against Disciples of Vellichor without my knowledge or permission leaves me with a heavy burden.
It has come to my attention that two Scholars worked as a part of this conspiracy to mete out justice without my knowledge or authorization, and without the authorization of the Faith of the Pantheon as a whole. Therefore, it is with a heavy heart that I must announce that Sparte Fatchforth and Rinel Tern are hereby dismissed from the ranks of the Scholars of Vellichor for their part in the unfortunate events of recent days. I do not take this action lightly, but given numerous warnings for past behavior unbefitting a Scholar, this was the final act which has tipped the scales for them both. They are hereby stripped of their Discipleships, and will be assigned a penance befitting their offenses in the eyes of the Faith and the Gods. Additionally, they are to be banned from the Great Archive until further notice.
