People of Arvum,
Rumors have recently been been swirling around the city about the status of Old Oak. It is true, Old Oak has fallen and Helena Thornweave is responsible. She sent a messenger to the city asking to parlay with a Scion of Grayson. She asked us to meet her at the ruins of Old Oak, without time to send messengers or to prepare any further.
In the destruction of Old Oak, she offered to rescue the people of the Compact from the freedom of choice, suggesting that it was other people's choices as to why we find ourselves in our present situation and at war with our enemy. Instead, she offered the bonds of unity and companionship, but without the ability to make our own choices and to guide our own lives.
I declined her offer. I would not see any person tethered and bound, given no choice in how they live their lives, no matter what walk of life they come from. In return, she has declared that her next target of attack is Arx and that we should make our preparations.
Therefore, heed the Queen's call to arms. Make your preparations. Show Helena Thornweave the kind of people we are. Show her that choices have very real meaning, and consequences too. Reach out to your allies.
