Assault on the Lowers

People of Arvum,
The massing of our enemy's army suggests that the Lower Boroughs are the next target for assault. With lower walls than the rest of the city and the docks of Arx on the riverside - and so many people all crammed in together - we are a tempting target for our foe, as we have been a tempting target for so many others.
Last time an army assaulted the Lowers we were abandoned to our fate, or so I have been informed by those I know and trust. If any wonders at the dislike and distrust with which those who have the least have regarded those of rank and title and ability, those who could have made such a difference in years gone by, let there be no more confusion - but let that be in the past. Come together, citizens of Arvum, and help us defend our weakest and our most vulnerable. Come together, and let a new history be written - and let it be written in the blood of our foes, rather than the blood of our own.
