Filshiar leads Farstride over to a hitching post and ties her there, loosely. Then, adjusting his sword belt a bit, he begins to move through the grounds, listening to the bark of distant hounds, until he happens upon Mathis and Noise. "Ah! Archlector, how good to see you. Thank you again for putting a good word in for me here." He smiles to the man and winks at the dog. "How goes things?"

Treb, a restless direhorn, Dash, a Kite of the Cloudspine, a feral Bastion kitten arrive, following Ivy.

Mar, the Magpie arrives, delivering a message to Ivy before departing.

Mathis turns his gaze from the trees and stops whistling. Upon seeing Filshiar he smiles and replies "Ah. Swamped with work and requests as always. So many more people asking me for advice after becoming Archlector."

Pasquale rides into the lodge area atop his impressive rose-grey stallion before hopping down and handing it across to a stable-girl (or boy) to be tended. He approaches Filshiar and Mathis then, inclining his head in respectful greeting as he moves.

There is a soft splash as a passing hunter walks to the well and lowers a bucket into it.

Mathis turns to look at Pasquale and returns the nod.

The hunter turns the crank to lift the bucket.


Filshiar nods, one hand against the hilt of his sword, as Mathis explains how busy he is. "Well, that sounds like it comes with the territory," he says of the new position. "Hopefully, you are able to keep your head above water." There's another flash of a smile as he turns to Pasquale and lifts a hand in greeting. "Good day," he says. "Things are quite busy around here today."

Ivy arrives on foot, walking onto the Lodge grounds accompanied by her direhorn and kite, the former being ushered to a stable box and admonished to behave, the latter riding her shoulder, talons gripped tightly into leather. Once the direhorn is seen to, she'll move to join the small group gathering up. Approaching the others, there's a solemn nod given to each man. Green gaze lingering on Pasquale for a moment, she murmurs, "Lord Malespero. I agree we should talk, perhaps on the trip back to the city?" After that odd greeting, she looks to Mathis, "Archlector. Where might I be of assistance?" To Filshiar, she offers a quick, "Greetings and a good day to you, sir."

Mathis grins at Ivy. "At the Lodge I am Hunter. Well" glances at the large table of the First Feast "Our stores are a little low. We could help out with the preservation." shrugs "There's always something to be done, so anything helps."

"I would like that." Pasquale says to Ivy before looking to Mathis. "I heard there was something special going on here today?"

Some gatherers emerge from the forest with baskets of berries and nuts. They walk into the Lodge.


"And good day to you," Filshiar says to Ivy, who caught his attention on her interest. At least, the direhorn first drew his eye. When she wonders what she can do and Pasquale mentions something special happening, he nods to Mathis and says, "If there is work to be done, do let me know. I am afraid that I am still learning the day to day of this place."

Mathis says, "Some of the younguns have declared today to be a day of celebration. The anniversary of someone's uncles first skinning or something. So they've been gathering together and putting up activities. Some hunts. Experimental cooking. As well as hiding objects to be found."

Mathis shakes his head and chuckles

Someone passing by grins and says "That's right. And my cooking is gonna be the best. Be on the lookout for my intestine and beetle mix when it's ready!" and enters the Lodge

Pasquale looks after the intestine and beetle mix boaster before looking back to the group. "I must confess. I have very few survival skills."

"As you wish, Hunter." Ivy dips her head in acknowledgement of the Archlector's correction. She looks to the table, then to the lodge where the berries and nuts are being brought in, then back to the trio, "I'm no hunter, but I can certainly help to find some greens and mushrooms to go with those nuts and berries. Dash can bring in some squirrels or rabbits to add to the pots." She glances back towards the Lodge, "Perhaps have some wheat and rye brought over to bake some bread to go with the meals?"


Filshiar lifts his brows at the idea of beetles and intestines, considers it with a tilt of his head, then nods approvingly. Why not? "I would love to see some of what is grown here," he says, since the possibility of harvesting or foraging is on the table.

Mathis nods, stands, and walks. Beckoning with his hand. "We grow a few things over yonder." After a whistle his hounds start following.
