(OOC)The scene set/room mood is now set to: The hall is decorated with the blue-and-steel colors of House Pravus, alongside the sigils of all the Pravosi Houses who fought in the recent battle with the Skal'daja. Servants in House Pravus livery circulate the room, providing plenty of drinks and finger food. A small stage has been set up on one side of the hall, right in front of three sections of the hall which are concealed by a blue curtain, ready to be unveiled.

Tyche Inverno, one of the voices of Pravus, stands near the entrance of the Academia Celeste, draped in steelsilk and wearing one of those smiles that holds both friendliness and fierce pride for all who cross the threshold here. "Good evening, hello. Princess Graziella! Princess Viviana, Princess Lucrezia!" She waves to her cousins each in turn. "Come in! Take a bottle, get settled. The ceremony will begin when Prince Sebastian deems he is ready. And with his timeliness, we might be waiting a moment or two." Her head tilts, dark eyes searching out the man she is teasing who certainly won't benefit from the teases. Back to greeting all who move through, "Princess Cerys. Nisaa Whisper! Hello to the both of you," she smiles. "Lord and Lady Kennex," to Ian and Zoey, then to Savio, "My most favorite of bards. Welcome, Master Savio. And Lord Orland, too," she adds, spying one of her vassal house members. And then the man with the hair comes in, and she steps forward, a hand snaking out to grasp his arm, to squeeze. "General Patrizio, I hope you're ready for tonight."

The world might well be ending, because one Sebastian Pravus, Artist and Prince, the Perennially Late, is in fact, not late. He's, in fact, gesturing in a manner that might well look like a disagreement with Briar, pointing towards the curtained-off sections of the hall. There's not even a drink to his hand, which might also explain the arguing though. Something about the precise positioning and that 'mere inches matter'. Briar must be paid quite handsomely, since she neither rolls her eyes nor snickers.

Fortunately, Pravus' other Voice is a far more gracious host: Marquessa Tyche, in her steelsilk finery, is posted at the door to greet those coming in. Seems they're each playing to their strengths.

Tyche gets a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

Raimon gets a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

Orland gets a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

Ian gets a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

Zoey gets a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

Cerys gets a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

A dip of Patrizio's head when Tyche's speaking to him, even as he's making himself at home for the moment, with Valencia accompanying him. Uncommon, perhaps, that the prince is without his armour, but dressed in silk for a change, as if he's seen no reason to be seen in his full regalia. "I'm as ready as I'm going to be for this evening," he admits back to the Marquesa. "But I'm far more ready for this than I was for the matter of the last time we all attended a meeting together." Which might say quite a bit about that last meeting, when he's considering the matter of a beverage as well, and the glance of his at the bottles.

And a glance about the room at familiar faces, inclining his head to them as he's chuckling, and then he muses, "Quite a crowd tonight."

Ian nods with respect to Tyche when his name is spoken; he's here with Zoey, and honestly looking a little bit more haggard than usual, but his eyes are calm as he uses his gaze to sweep the room. "Lord Savio. Lord Orland." He angles in Savio and Orland's direction.

Patrizio gets a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

"Naturally, cos," Viviana does move to help herself to a bottle, sauntering away with her prize, before she tucks herself into a niche in order to take a better look at it. She smirks, eye lidding, "Perfect." More steel and leather than blue silk, but the Sword is more than content to take up a quiet position and keep an eye on the Choir.

Viviana takes a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

Smiling, Nisaa dips her head towards Tyche. "Good evening to you as well, Marquessa." Nisaa is dressed tonight in bright, hopeful colors of copper and emeralds, her gown adorned with fluttering butterflies. The color makes her eyes especially vibrant. And when Sebastian enters, she dips her head respectfully to him as well, rising to greet him then with a smile. "Prince Sebastian."

Zoey dips her head to the Marquessa as well before following her husband. She still smiles warmly, but not with the usual levels of cheerfulness that she regularly exudes.

Nisaa gets a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

Savio pauses slightly at Tyche's greeting, as he enters with Orland -- all steelsilk today, the fun finery was yesterday. The hesitation seems to be at her form of address, though perhaps also for the nature of the event in general. In any event, he musters up a smile for her. "Hello. Haven't forgotten that song for you." He performs a gesture somewhere between a bow and a nod, respectful, then lets himself and the indomitable Orland drift towards Ian, whom he seems glad to see, if everything is a bit subdued. "Lord Ian, and Lady Zoey, always a welcome sight."

Valencia gets a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

When Ian calls Savio by his actual title, Tyche's exhales a laugh, "Oh goodness. That's right. /Lord/ Savio. I shall never call you Master again!" She sighs dramatically at that, as if some great loss has been had, and then she's smiling to Valencia, "Princess. Welcome. You look stunning tonight." A tilting of her head Patrizio-ward, she groms.

Cerys smiles gently as she is greeting, she too inclining her head in Tyche's direction in greeting, "You as well, Marquessa." Afterwards, she eyes the crowd, giving polite nods here and there until she reaches a suitable spot for her to stand at.

Dolente, a mourning dove, Dolce, a collared dove arrive, following Cesare.

Princess Graziella arrives to the function in a rich red outfit of Saffron influence that glitters with bloodstones and malissite, as she glides past Tyche she lofts an arm down by her side in the ghost of a curtsy and pauses long enough to say, "Marquessa, thank you for the warm welcome." And then she's off!

There's no smiles from Lord Orland Amadeo today, in fact, he looks entirely uncomfortable with being present. He manages a brief nod to Tyche however, averting his eyes and sort of has a green tinge to his palor. He manages to go with Savio, but he's keeping rather quiet and his eyes are not looking at anyone directly in the face. In fact, he decides to down two shots of rum, one after the other, as if to add liquid courage to his persona today.

Rupert, the Laurent Archivist, 2 Valardin Knights, 1 Laurent veteran guards arrive, following Cristoph.

Jayne, Burly Sailor arrives, following Wash.

Two things finally pull Sebastian's attention from whatever artistic vision has him distracted. The first is that a glass of his favorite red wine -- Setarcan Red -- is placed into his hands by a knowing Briar. The second is that Nisaa greets him, the prince reacting with genuine delight and surprise. After her dip-of-greeting, he leans to kiss her cheek in the airy manner of the Lycene. "You're early-" but then he half turns to see the growing crowd, his brow furrowing. "-or I'm late." But he's here! Noticing, of course, his family -- Viviana's lounging after claiming her rum, with a knowing grin -- Graziella with her impressive Saffron-inspired outfit -- Patrizio in silks, a sight he hasn't beheld in a while, with a lift of glass to him and the Velenosan Princess alongside him.

Arriving along with Patrizio, Valencia, dressed in scarlet southern silks, smiles brightly to see so many familiar faces. Warm welcomes and nods are offer to all she encounters as they move through the crowd. A warm and grateful smile is given to the Marquessa Tyche, "Good evening, Marquessa. I'm so very glad to see you. You look beautiful as always," she nods warmly, her cheeks touched pink at the woman's compliment, which apparently ranked highly. "Thank you for having me. It is all very exciting."

Zoey has left the A comfortable couch.

3 Black Fleet Reavers, Moonsilver, the pale-feathered raven, 1 Iron Guardsmen arrive, following Raven.

Cerys has joined the A Sumptous Set of Chairs for Conversation.

Lucrezia arrives, all but pushed by her guards. Her face screams 'do not want to be here'. She nods tersely to Tyche's greeting. She goes to slouch on one of the seats. She looks like she's hoping she can sleep through this and thus ignore and be ignored!

Patrizio retrieves glasses of red wine for both himself and Valencia, and there's a tip of the glass in his own hand to Sebastian when he's noticing the toast, with the smile of the cat with the canary for the briefest moment. Though there's the quick lift of said glass to his lips, even as the jade eyes dart about the room and take in how many people there really are here. "I didn't think this was going to be quite so well attended, truthfully," he muses to Valencia at his side. "Shall we grab seats?"

Slipping into the hall, Cesare is somewhat subdued today; his usual palette of finery is relegated to black-and-white with a hint of blue peeking from beneath his jacket, and his hair is tucked back neatly into a chignon at the nape of his neck, rather than free-flowing. He pauses for a moment to assess the assembled individuals, his gaze traveling over faces with a weight that is almost palpable, and then he steps to greet Graziella first, murmuring softly to her as he takes one of her hands and places a kiss to the back of it, though his eyes travel almost immediately to Savio and Orland.

Zoey has joined the A comfortable couch.

"I am early, of course. You are never late," Nisaa answers to Sebastian, leaning in to return the airy kiss. After, she moves out of the way to let him address others, though she stands just near his side for the time being.

Orland's reaction does not go unnoticed by the door-greeter, and Tyche makes a mental note before she sweeps her attention to the rest slipping in. Some unfamiliar faces slip by, and she welcomes them all as if she's known them for years, "So good that you could come. Tonight we honor those Pravus who fought for the Compact. And we drink. Don't forget to take some rum," she gestures to the Pieros-inspired bottles. Another glance is cast Sebastian, just a small check-in before she turns back to the crowds gathering. "Duke Laurent," her smile shifts as she steps forward, her hand extending to touch his arm familiarly. "You're here. How wonderful to see our Valardin allies, who were essential to the success of this war." Her hand squeezes, and she lowers her voice a tick, "Grab some rum. I will share the bottle with you later, hmm?" She turns away as Raven slips in, the woman earning a quick, "Welcome, Raven."

Wash puts in an appearance, collecting a glass for himself and his valet. He circulates for the moment, affable, sociable, but not yet deciding on how long he will stay.

Orland has joined the A comfortable couch.

Savio has joined the A comfortable couch.

Ian has joined the A comfortable couch.

In the midst of the variety of people arriving, Duke Cristoph Laurent slips in among the crowd. His attention takes him first to the room at large, where his eyes sweep over everything that it has to offer. Then it drops to the others present, eyeing up different faces, familiar and unfamiliar alike. He's not so often seen at the formal functions of this particular ward, so quite a few are unknown to him. He smiles politely, but distantly, as he moves past someone that's taken up presence in his path. "Excuse me," he states, but it's clear he expects them to shift. Then he's on his way again. "Prince Sebastian, good to see you. House Valardin sends it regards." It's within his greeting that he feels a familiar hand touch his arm. Like hers, his polite smile shifts. It's warmer somehow, more engaging. "I am, I managed to make it in time. I won't distract either of you from your hosting duties. Plus, I hear some rum is calling for me." He steps back, turning his hand over to squeeze her fingers before he moves to where these bottles are.

Cristoph has joined the A Couple of Couches in Sumptuous Silk.

Cristoph takes a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

Savio wraps an arm around Orland's shoulders, and steers him over towards a couch where Ian and Zoey have landed, murmuring quietly to him as they walk.

Cerys has left the A Sumptous Set of Chairs for Conversation.

Cerys has joined the A Couple of Couches in Sumptuous Silk.

There is a smile to Sebastian's welcome, one of gentle fondness, that is followed by a graceful incline of head. The lords Ian and Wash, and of course Lady Zoey are met with a warm nod as well. Another bow of head and soft word of thanks is offered to Patrizio for the drink and a nod of agreement that they should find a seat is offered, but not before the little vixen gives another smile to Cerys, Lucrezia and the solemn Orland and his charming companion, Savio. "I think that would be a good idea. Yes, thank you," she affirms to the Prince General.

Patrizio has joined the A Couple of Couches in Sumptuous Silk.

Valencia has joined the A Couple of Couches in Sumptuous Silk.

Sebastian gives a quiet laugh to Nisaa's words. "Never?" not even he can swallow that particular lie, even when it comes from a Whisper. Clearing his throat, the call of his name draws his gaze to Cristoph. "Duke Cristoph! Always a pleasure to have you with us. Make sure you claim a bottle of rum," he calls, brightly. He pauses to murmur something towards Nisaa before he moves up towards the stage that's set up in front of all the statues.

Zoey raises a hand and flutters her fingers to Valencia in reply.

After sitting down, Ian takes his flask out of an inner pocket of his coat and takes a drink with the air of someone who intends to lean pretty hard on whatever's inside it, tonight.

Orland lets Savio put his arm around him and steer him, nodding to whatever Savio is saying, but the way he's sort of averting his gaze, means he misses the arrive of a few friends, like Cesare, in the meantime. He settles hard into the couch, twitching his fingers at his side, digging into his pocket.

Raimon has joined the A Couple of Couches in Sumptuous Silk.

Graziella is getting her own glass of Setarcan Red when Cesare takes her hand and she has a sumptuous little smile for him as she whispers something back and follows his gaze, "Should we find a place to settle in?" Her pale baby blues cut a look around the room at all the familiar faces and she starts to looks for a place to sit.

Raven strides in. She's wearing a dress, her hair's brushed to a high sheen and free from it's usual braid. She is here but her verdant gaze is full of trepidation as she scans the sea of peerage mingling and milling about.

Cesare has joined the A comfortable couch.

As it seems the line of guests is thinning, and the last has been ushered into the Academia, Tyche smiles her last greeting, and then turns to handle her duties (which Cristoph has assured her he won't keep her from). With a graceful ease she weaves through the gathering, a few words of pleasantries shared here and there, until she is joining Sebastian in the mounting of the stage. She leans in to whisper something to him, a brow arched in some wry amusement, and then the pair of them will take the platform in all their Choir of Setarco glory.

Cesare has left the A comfortable couch.

Dolente, a mourning dove, Dolce, a collared dove leave, following Cesare.

Rum? Lucrezia *definitely* doesn't twitch in hiding a perk up at mention of rum, but her cabin boy slinks silently over to the cabinet to scavenge for the rum.

Dolente, a mourning dove, Dolce, a collared dove arrive, following Cesare.

Raven has joined the A comfortable couch.

"Grazi, cos! You're a vision." Greetings for more relations from where she's lounging, and next Viviana squints her eye on Raven, and then grins and calls out: "Blackheart -- that outfit suits you!"

Raimon makes his way quietly over to one of the sumptuous silken divans. Impressive party.

Wash returns Valencia's nod and sidles over to take a bottle of rum for himself, handing it off to his valet to carry.

Lucrezia gets a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

Finally with a drink in hand and standing on the stage -- the best way for a Pravus to give any speech -- Sebastian clears his throat after a sidelong look and a quick laugh at whatever Tyche whispers to him. "Thank you all for coming," he calls out, his gaze sweeping the crowd. "We are pleased host you all here tonight. As you know, a great victory was won in the Saffron Chain, against the Skal'dajan forces and their allies. While we may celebrate this tonight -- and we will -- we must also mourn for those whose lives were lost. Those losses affected not just Pravus, but the other Great Houses, the Faith, and those sworn to no House, but who, for their own reasons, chose to stand and fight beside the combined might of the Compact. We commend them all."

The Artist of Pravus turns to Nisaa, gesturing towards a curtained-off painting mounted to the wall. "Tonight, House Pravus wishes to honor the Setarcan Knight, Sir Ari Corsetina, who fell in battle leading Pravus ships. Sir Ari was a man who proved himself fiercely loyal, who not only earned the title of Knight but exemplified it. In honor of his sacrifice, tonight the Chorus of Pravus declares this building, that honors our past, be renamed in his honor, the Academia Ari." He indicates for Nisaa drops the curtain away from the painting, positioned so that it's subtly lit, just to the side of one of the curtained off statues.

Sebastian drops A Portrait of the Knight of Setarco, Sir Ari Corsetina.

Pace, pace, pause, bow-Raven pauses mid stride to bow to Viviana, "Thank you, your highness. I don't quite cut the figure you do but it's always good to have something to aspire to, no?" She flashes a grin and settles alongside Zoey, Savio, Orland, and Ian getting a collective respectful nod in greeting.

:smile back to Zoey as she flutters her fingers and then to Wash as he returns her nod and passes the commemorative bottle of rum to his valet.

Quiet steps announced the older sailor, clad in dark clothing with hints of color in the accents and accessories he wore. A calm and collected demeanor as he takes in the chamber, eyeing so many unfamiliar faces; like a fish out of water. Remaining idle amongst the sea of people as he watches the stage intently.

Cerys continues to greet, mostly with gestures, but suddenly turns her attention to the speaker, her smile going thin as she listens and adjusts herself in her seat.

6 Ivory Shields leaves, following Graziella.

6 Ivory Shields arrives, following Graziella.

Rodrigo, the Surprisingly Large Flautist, 2 Ivory Shields, Romeo, a love sick bird who wouldn't be free arrive, following Nina.

Graziella has joined the A Sumptous Set of Chairs for Conversation.

Cesare has joined the A Sumptous Set of Chairs for Conversation.

Graziella sends a familiar little finger wave to Viviana at the compliment and she calls back in her airy intonation, "Too kind, too kind."

Nisaa moves towards the painting when Sebastian gives her the motion to do so. Lifting her hands, she rests them on the curtains, preparing, and waits for him to speak. At his gesture, she nods and lets the curtain drop, revealing the masterpiece painted of Sir Ari Coresetina. She then steps further away to that it can be fully viewed.

While Tyche joins Sebastian on stage, for this portion she remains silent. Mere emphasis on his words with nods of her head, her fingers lacing in front of her as she stands just off center as his support. When he speaks of the building, her eyes drift upward, taking in the full scope of the Academia Ari. Her hands unlace, one lifting to rest just above her heart. Her attention falls to rest on the painting, and she calls out, "To Sir Ari Corsetina."

Cesare nods to Graziella, offering her an elbow and guiding her over to a chair and assisting briefly in the proper settling of skirts before settling next to her. He turns his attention to the stage, expression placid as he listens to Sebastian and watches the reveal of the statue.

Nina gets a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

Patrizio is quiet for the moment, that wineglass in his hand making the transit now and again between his lips and a more restful repose as he's listening to his cousin speaking. Those jade eyes are drawn to the portrait when it's revealed and... the general briefly lifts his glass to the painting in reverent salute. It's held there, for several long moments, before he draws it to his lips, and then takes a profound sip. "May he be remembered for good, and for all the good that he did in his life," says he softly, reverently. "And may the Academia be a worthy tribute to the life he led."

Nina was a bit late for the affair, but slides in quietly in time to hear the dedication of the painting. She always appreciates seeing art. She slides into a seat, to listen to the proceedings.

Nina has joined the A Sumptous Set of Chairs for Conversation.

Valencia's eyes grow solemn as Sir Ari Corsetina is remembered and she dips her head respectfully.

Erasmus gave a respectful dip of his head having seen the art, hearing the others call out; he listens to it all.

There seems to be genuine emotion to the way Sebastian gazes at the portrait, Tyche's call stirring him as he takes a sip of his glass, and clears his throat. "Tonight, too, we must not fail to acknowledge the strength and determination of the rulers and people of Sangris and Tremorus and their choices to allow their homes to be sieged. The leadership of Pravus spoke with the Baroness Calla, Lady Andromeda and then-Master Giorgio, and we discussed the possible options. Without prompting, each without hesitation offered to withstand the forces we suspected would be thrown against their city-states." He waits a beat, not in some attempt at dramatics, but as if collecting his thoughts.

The Prince of Pravus' voice is heavier as he continues, "It is no easy thing to make a sacrifice of oneself; harder still to make one of the people who look to you, who are loyal to you, who seek safety under the shelter of your strength. It is a measure of unenviable will, loyalty and trust, and it is a choice that I for one wholly commend." He lifts his glass as if to encourage a toast, before his eyes seek out one newly minted Lord of the Compact. "Lord Savio Proscipi, Bard of Tremorus, we invite you to join us to speak of the Siege of Tremorus, so that all may know what transpired." He gestures towards Savio to join himself and Tyche on the stage.

Lucrezia nods at approximately the right moments during the speach, a skill learned from dodging lessons. Otherwise, she only truly stirs when her cabin boy regains her side and slips her some rum.

Savio has left the A comfortable couch.

Savio checks composure at hard. Savio marginally fails.

Cesare turns to greet Nina as she joins himself and Graziella at the chairs, but the friendly gesture is stalled by Sebastian's next words. His dark eyes go sharp, and fix on Savio; he sits up a bit straighter - not that he was slouching to begin with - and folds his hands in his lap. His expression hasn't outwardly changed, but there's the distinct sense he's ready to leap into action if necessary.

Wash raises his glass in a silent agreement to SEbastian's words before downing the contents and handing it off.

Viviana lifts her rum in toast, pausing for the length of time that Tyche keeps her eyes aloft at the statue of Ari Corsetina. When the subject shifts from knight to newly-made noble, her bright green eye flicks toward Savio.

Her glass raises respectfully with the others in salute before finding Valencia's lips. Dark eyes turn to watch Savio step forward as Sebastian calls him to speak.

Cerys lowers the still closed commemorative bottle of rum to sit near her feet and as she leans back, her hands are placed on her lap, one above the other. As she listens to Sebastian, her gaze lowers and a brief, if barely noticeable frown crosses her lips before looking up again to the next speaker.

Graziella shifts a look to her sister at one point, between her own sips of wine and then slowly allows her gaze trace back to the front with a proper showing of respect for the somber subject matter. Her dour eyes are suited to somber reflection and her gaze tips to Cesare at one point but there isn't anything to be gleaned from her pensive expression.

Briar, the fleet and agile shrike arrives, delivering a message to Graziella before departing.

Raven's leaned forward, watching her companions worriedly but looking up briefly as the painting is unveiled. Her lips press into a brief thin line but her expression unscrutable until Sebastian asks Savio to step up. Her eyebrows shoot up in abrupt surprise and alarm. Her nostrils flare and there's a maelstrom of emotions but her face can't seem to settle on one.

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Cesare before departing.

Ian slouches next to Raven and takes a drink from the flask in his hand. As usual, he's emotionally parked firmly in neutral. If you average the two of them out, you get a normal person.

Nisaa stands near to the painting and looks at it closely, lowering her head to honor the man who gave his life in battle. When Savio is invited to speak, her eyes go to him, awaiting what words he has to share about the battle.

Briar, a quiet young woman, 6 First Legion Centurions leave, following Sebastian.

Briar, a quiet young woman, 6 First Legion Centurions arrive, following Sebastian.

Zoey watches Savio as he heads toward the stage, and says something softly to those still sitting near her.

Patrizio draws breath, his head lifting to watch Savio when he's summoned forth to speak about the matter of what passed in Tremorus. And, as much as his attentiveness, there's certainly the faintest sense of un-ease that passes the general's features, a bit of guilt perhaps about matters past.

Savio's name has been called! He looks like he's not particularly relishing the spotlight, unlike his usual inclination to dive into it, but he does step forward, and speaks.

"The walls of Tremorus have stood for a thousand years or more, and in the memories and the recorded history of the Arakkoan people who live within them, they have never fallen. But everything Tremorus faced up until this point was a war between islands -- this was a war between continents." He looks down for a moment, then back up, continuing. "We were not unprepared. We were as well equipped as it was possible to be, and we sent an army to our sister island to defend the Vaevici of Sangris. We told Pravus we would withstand, that nothing has ever broken us before, and that we would not break now."

There are gaps in this narrative, pauses, but it seems not to be about being ill prepared so much as it is that this is heavy stuff for him, and Savio is making an effort at not falling to pieces in front of Assorted Very Important People.

"The Eurusi used our ancient enemies among us, people you would call shavs in your language," Savio continues, voice accented by the weird lilt of whatever his first language is. "And they used great sorcery against us, tremendous lightning strikes that cracked the walls where all the shav armies had failed, where all our millennia of enemies had failed. Through this breach, worked by evil magics -- they entered the city."

This is where it gets bad, and he sounds a bit detached as he continues. "Uncounted numbers of lowland shavs poured into the city, and despite the bravery of those who fought, we were pushed back. Amadeo, Eswynd, and Proscipi fought together in the streets of Tremorus, and city block by city block, we held them until we could not. Our fighters were killed, our civilians were killed, our allies were killed, and all of them fought to the last. To the bitterest ends. Lady Andromeda struck them, and fell, and rose again, and piled around her scores of dead such that even your Arvani legends might have a hard time keeping up with her deeds in this war."

Another pause, then, "It was not enough. The city was sacked, despite the efforts of my brother Giorgio, Lady Andromeda, Lord Orland, Lords Odin and Branimir of Eswynd, despite all of us. We held until the forces of the Pravosi were able to relieve the siege -- the losses were grievous. I do not need to articulate them. My ennoblement is a testament to it, and always will be."

Savio pauses one last time. "The city burned. Now it rebuilds, with those who remain and who still stand tall. I have nothing left to say except this: Nothing has broken us before, and we are not broken now."

Raven lowers her gaze and looks down at her feet the whole time Savio talks, one hand lifting to run back atop her head, trousling her hair in it's wake.

Savio does not stick around for further comments, seeming inclined to retreat back out of the spotlight again as much as he can. There was no sobbing openly in front of the Compact, so, good for him, but relating the broad strokes of the conflict seems to have taken it out of him, and that composure is hanging on by a thread. A little spindly somewhat fraying thread!

The story that Savio tells is a harrowing one, and Tyche takes a small step back so as not to detract from the severity of the words (or the sacrifices) made. When he moves to make his quick retreat, she makes no move to stop him, simply murmuring a, "Thank you, Lord Savio." The gratitude for his words, for his efforts, for the city he works to rebuild.

"Despite all -- the Proscipi shall prosper," Setarco's Sword crows out, and Viviana's expresion is fiercely proud. "A tale that will be remembered and honored, Lord Savio!"

Patrizio briefly lifts his glass in salute to Savio in the wake of his words, that expression of understanding about the difficulty of speaking apparent on the prince's features, especially given the topic. And he does look none the more at-ease than before Savio spoke.

Erasmus wore a somber expression, hands folded behind his back as he listened to the nobleman speak. If he were going to say anything, the idea was snuffed out when Savio quickly retreated from the spotlight, an understanding nod given in response.

Cesare's gaze remains fixed on Savio, almost entirely unblinking, the whole time he speaks, and then follows him as he beats a hasty retreat. Lofting a glass of rum snagged from a passing tray, Cesare echoes in Viviana's wake, "To Tremorous!"

Wash's valet offers him a glass so that he can participate in the toast, which he does, naturally.

Cerys has no glass in her hands, so instead she dips her head briefly and nods repeatedly.

Graziella glances to Cesare and then the front and around the room while joining in the toast by raising her glass but taking a more demure sip.

Savio has joined the A comfortable couch.

Sebastian is all but still throughout Savio's recitation, clearly riveted by it. He slides a hand through Tyche's arm, as if maybe to offer her support -- or him support -- as he listens. It takes a moment after the lord has finished before he continues. "Thank you, Lord Savio, for sharing. Nothing can replace what was taken from Tremorus -- the people whose lives were lost. But we will help you rebuild what can be, and we honor you and those who stood with you, Lord Savio of Proscipi." He presses something that glimmers with the unmistakable gleam of star iron into Savio's hand just before he disappears from the stage. "To the people of Tremorus, the unbroken!" he hails, collecting his near-empty glass to take another sip.

"I only hope my work serves as a suitable honor to what transpired. Whisper Nisaa?" Sebastian gestures towards the next curtained area, nearer to the painting, one with multiple statues depicting the Siege of Tremorus. A moment later, he turns his gaze back to the crowd. "Next, I invite Lord Titus Vaevici, Warmonger of the Red City, to speak of the Siege of Sangris."

Sebastian drops statues depicting the Siege of Tremorus.

There's a sense to Patrizio that he's not overly occupied at the moment, listening as he does for the moment about the words being offered up, from those who'd been at different fronts of the war than he. But he gestures, lightly, to his centurions and points briefly, and one of them comes over after another moment or two to bring a glass to Cerys so that she might not have her hands empty.

Raven keeps her gaze downcast but lifts her flask and echoes, "To Tremorus!"

"To Tremorous," Nisaa says before she hears her name and looks again to Sebastian before she silently moves to the next curtained area. She drops the curtain to show the statues and makes sure it is out of the way.

Tyche is more than happy to have the support of, or be the support of, Sebastian. She easily leans into him while Savio speaks, comforted by his nearness and by the strength he perpetuates with his call. "To the people of Tremorus!" she joins in the toast, claiming her drink finally, which was set off on a small table.

Cerys blinks as the glass is brought to her and she presses her lips into a soft smile toward Patrizio as she mouths, "Thank you."

Wash says, "I met the Marquessa of Tremorus." Wash announces to Savio. "She was optimistic of what could be accomplished in Tremorus as a part of the compact.""

Savio is quiet for a long moment before he agrees with Wash, "She was."

Orland stands up after Savio's speech is over and the statue is revealed. He gives Savio a quick hug and a quick murmur, but there's something he cannot face that's upon that statue. He leaves quickly, eyes and cheeks red.

Orland has left the A comfortable couch.

Philippe leaves, following Orland.

Valencia listens to Savio speak, her bottom lip softly caught as he weaves the story for them. Again, her glass lifts in salute, her expression quiet at Savio's telling the tale. Dark eyes follow him back to her seat, a gentle nod of appreciation offered, but her gaze returns to Sebastian as he speaks and then upon the sculpture of the fiercely fought battle. The raven haired woman seems to take a moment to study the piece, her eyes lightly rolling over the careful details in the depiction before nodding once in appreciation.

At cheers and toasts that go up, while Cristoph doesn't call out into the room, he does raise his drink when it seems to do so. And takes a measured sip or two. He's so far spent the evening engaged in a bit of quiet, light discourse with the others at the couches.

As a name is called, a tall pale and gaunt figure makes his way with two Sangrinite myrmidons holding a jar with something inside it, and an ornately carved skull that smiles widely. The blood red eyes look around the room, everyone gets a look before the haggard voice speaks through decayed lungs.

"The night before the Siege at the Temple of Pyros, there were multiple groups of legions, cohorts and groups lined up. Hoplites, knights, engineers, berserkers and more. Some from far away places like Arx, some from the Chains and some even from within the caldera. I had been busy with the reinforcements and supplies, preparing the city for a siege and battle, but also taking time with some friendly tribes like the S'Ki. And at the Temple of Pyros, huge fires burned as they sent flickers of sparks and cinders to the sky. Chanting of the songs could be heard with the drums along the Watchers. Many figures holding the sacred chalices before the groups as I spoke to them."

"And so I said, do you hear it? The drums of war beat loud within our hearts as the ravens circle overhead in anticipation of a great feast upon the soon vanquished all across the world and here with in the Caldera once more. Let the spirit of war gorge upon the bloodshed tomorrow, may gods that look down agree that the heavy price of destruction offered tomorrow is worthy of glory, that we might be worthy to grasp and earn peace for a little while."

"Children of Sangris, allies and friends brought together by this war. As we drink from this chalice the wine of war, let it fill you with strength and conviction. And should you die within these walls or outside them, remember that for every Sangrinite that dies here, a hundred more become more powerful with your death. May your pyros be strengthened by Sangris, and may your pyros strengthen it! Let yourselves not be the one who doesn't give their all, and may the Watchers protect Sangris once more. Our allies fight in Pieros and our Magistrix is there helping our allies in their time of need. Be with me and hold Sangris strong."

"And so I led the defense of Sangris from the front to delay, hamper and coax the Eurusi forces to lay siege to Sangris so our allies in Pieros might not have 100% Skal'daja focus or strength. I had defensive lines at the Gorgon's Neck to slow the attack, and then retreat into the walls. My strategy, a rather bold one, was to make Sangris a tempting target for the Skal'daja and they took the bait. But this wasn't to be my victory, the victory came at learning and changing to accept friendship and allies and the Pravus, Grayson and Proscipi gave so Sangris might survive. The Skal'daja leaders on the siege, I listened to them pray to their gods and spirits who forsake them at their moment of terror and need as they were vanquished. And I took their evil hearts from them before lopping their heads off and placing their bodies in the Valley of Flies like all the others, for their songs of woe can be a warning that evil will not be suffered lightly in the Caldera."

He gestures to the jar. "The evil hearts of people who desire to consume and destroy are rotten, and like rotten fruit, must be thrown out." And gesturing to the skull, he says "And while the dead may be dead, their whispers to the living should be a warning that evil will close our minds from the truth. May their eternal smiles remind us of the irony that no matter how hard they try, there will always be at least one who will stand up for honour."

"Finally, this victory that came, it cost the lives of valiant people that I only knew via name who will inspire countless others after their death. It put pressure and hardship on houses across the Compact and their dutiful citizens who went without so that peoples they will never even know could defend their city-state. For my friends of Tremorus, we will rebuild and make it stronger with our friendship forged in war. To our allies like the Pravus and others here, we will be there when you need us without question. So speaking as a Warmonger of the Red City, I say that I salute and commend each person of this Compact. I look to you each as friends to know. You will not die alone from this day on, you might go to the next place but your names will be remembered, heroes each of you. You, friends, are changing the world."

Raven winces at Wash's comment but lifts her gaze finally to settle on Savio.

Cesare listens for a moment as Titus speaks, but with a soft aside to Graziella and a kiss to the top of her head, he downs his glass of rum and slips out quietly and without fanfare, like little more than a shadow.

Cesare has left the A Sumptous Set of Chairs for Conversation.

Dolente, a mourning dove, Dolce, a collared dove leave, following Cesare.

Another story, no less difficult (but important) to hear than Savio's. Tyche's finger dig into Sebastian's arm, a look shared with him at the weight of all these lives on the shoulders of their leaders. She is silent, however, until the close of the man's speech, where she adds, "From every compass point in the Saffron Chain, we fought. To the people of Sangris, heroes each of you."

Sebastian once more falls still as Titus recalls his experiences of the Siege of Sangris. There's a long, low breath, full of something just as emotive, his voice lifting to call, "May the Watchers never falter," as he lifts his glass, draining the rest of the liquid and setting it aside. He pulls something from a pouch, and presses it into Titus' hand, as he speaks, "It was one of those who have joined us more recently, a wise new Lord with whom I corresponded gladly with after the battle, who said it best." The way he looks at Titus might suggest of whom he speaks, the prince's smile immediately and effortless as he continues, "He said, 'If an enemy attacks one of us, even should we fall, they'll find the others become stronger.' I believe that to be true, of the Vaevici, of the Proscipi, of the Pravus and all her vassals, and of the Compact as a whole, too. We are different. Our differences can separate us -- can make us argue heatedly and passionately over the right, or the best strategy, or the best way forward, but they can also make us stronger."

"And I believe the Battle of Skal'daja proved such." Sebastian turns his gaze towards Whisper Nisaa, with a nod, to reveal the second-to-last statue.

Sebastian drops statues depicting the Siege of Sangris.

While Titus speaks, Nisaa stands quietly by, listening. At her cue from Sebastian, she moves to pull the curtain away from the next set of statues. She is not here to draw attention to herself, so swiftly moves aside once more, giving a smile and a nod to the Prince.

Viviana has left the A Couple of Couches in Sumptuous Silk.

"The slave kingdoms of the Dune Empires are not done with us," Sebastian states, steadying his breath as he regards all -- Pravosi, vassals, friends, allies. "It was a victory that, unequivacally, told the Dune Kingdoms that the Compact, united, is not ripe for the taking; that we will not be slaves; that we will not only fight for our own freedom, but the freedom of those we have liberated and made promises of Choice to. But there will come a time when they turn their gaze back towards us, when they are no longer distracted by their own wars... but we see what they are capable of, and we will grow stronger, work, and prepare... and we will be ready." There's a nod towards Nisaa for the final series of statues, this time referencing the battle at the Bay of Pieros.

"Next, I ask a few more people to come to the stage. Admiral Lucrezia; General Patrizio; Raven the Blackheart." Sebastian's gaze sweeps the room. "Lord Orland." He's clearly missed his departure, but the sweep catches the newly arrived Marquis. "Marquis Giorgio. Each of you fought bravely and with honor, for your House and for the Compact. Consider this but a small token of the Choir's thanks." He will lift out a star iron medal for each person, pressing it into their hands. "And I believe... the Marquessa Tyche has something to add?"

"Sometimes we fight one battle we know we will lose in order for another battle to be won." Wash agrees with Titus. "There is a honor in both, but if I had to wager, I would bet fewer have the qualities necessary to fight the first."

Viviana's shift from casual lounge to quiet prowl is subtle. She remains close to the peripheral, shifting, stalking toward the exit. After another respectful moment, she exits.

Once again, Nisaa reveals the final series of statues, doing a half spin out of the way again after she tugs it away.

Patrizio draws himself out of his seat, the faintest of tugs to his attire to make sure it's all in place as he's summoned forth. Another quaff of his drink, and then he's moving easily, fluidly, up towards the front to join Sebastian and the others.

Cerys lifts her glass to Titus politely.

Arriving late to the event is Giorgio Proscipi, the newly crested Marquis of Tremorus. The tall man enters, his expression somber due to the nature of this particular social affair. His eyes widen a touch at the almost immediate calling of his name, but as the medal is presented, Giorgio sweeps a hand out for his brother to move forward to accept his medal first. "Thank you, Prince Sebastian. I only hope that our sacrifice can serve as some indication of our dedication to the Compact, and our commitment toward our allies," he says, turning a toward those assembled and offering a respectful bow before he moves off to the side of the room.

Nina applauds for those getting medals on this day, an honor well-deserved, surely.

Raven looks up owlishly as her name's called. She sucks in a breath and offers her flask to Savio before rising to stride to join Sebastian, pausing to bow as she approaches. Her attention turns then to Tyche.

Again, Valencia listens to the words spoken by Titus, her lips pressed in gentle silence as he relates the experiences and stories of the siege. Soon after, Sebastian soon returns and speaks again. And again, her eyes turn to the sculpture created to mark the moment in history with it's crimson-veined marble walls and the serious looking man who stands before the army as they face the opposing army. A soft reply and nod is offered to Patrizio as he rises to join his kin upon the stage along with Raven, Princess Admiral Lucrezia and the others.

Lucrezia is hard-pressed to continue trying to figure out how to guzzle rum while pretending to be totally asleep when her name is called. Who? What? She glances at her cabin boy, but without a word said she rolls out of her seat with a put-upon sigh and joins the others to receive medals from Sebastian. The look on her face is a storm, battling between bored and pride. She nods to something Sebastian says to her and says, "Thank you."

When Sebastian steps forth to bring the last of the accolades to the attention of the crowd, Tyche's smile deepens. Each medal crafted for the heroes of Pravus, and each carrying with it the support and gratitude of the Choir of Setarco. She watches the honorees step up on the stage, offering each a small nod and an expression of her own gratitude, "Thank you for all you did." Simple and succinct, and she waits until the last has been handed over before she steps forward to pluck Patrizio out of the line, to draw him to the center of the stage with all of the force of her formidable strength (none). She trusts he will not struggle, however, as she turns to address the crowd. "Through this war, General Patrizio Pravus has remained a guiding light, a man with a mind for battle and risk, one who fought every step of the way for Pravus, and for the Compact." She tilts her head to smile at him, "And as such, the better one performs, the more responsibility they should be given, yes? Prince Sebastian and I are pleased to welcome Prince Patrizio Pravus to the Choir of Setarco. May his voice join ours in supporting Archduchess Belladonna's wishes." She takes a step back, lifting her drink in a toast to the man, "To Prince Patrizio Pravus, member of the Choir of Setarco."

Savio has already received one when he spoke, but he does step forward to clap Giorgio on the shoulder in what seems like tired solidarity, encouraging the new Marquis to go and fetch his own memorial award. For Sebastian, Savio offers, "I can deliver Orland's for him, unless you would like to deliver it yourself. He feels the loss of the men and women of Bravura, keenly." A half smile, "As do we all." Either way, given or retained for a more personal exchange, Savio steps aside in time to give Tyche the floor to speak!

Raven accepts the metal and bows again, "Serving my family has never been a burden, Sebastian." She murmurs something softer to Sebastian before stepping away and turning her attention to Tyche and Savio in turn.

After a moment, Tyche adds, "Now let's celebrate the evening - remember our fallen, praise our heroes, and never forget our strength." This is the general call for merriment, the releasing from the ceremony and the express permission (if any needed it) to get drunk on Pierosian rum.

Graziella takes a bottle of Pierosian Coconut Rum from a liquor cabinet marked with the sigil of House Pravus.

Ian braces on his cane and the arm of the couch and rises with a soft grunt of effort.

A breath, which Patrizio's been taking more than a few of on being drawn up. What Sebastian's said to him does get a faint hint of colour to his cheeks and a very proud smile, and the sense that he's about to have some kind of retort, before Tyche's gripping his arm and pulling on him... and of course, he's not resisting at all. There's no reason for him to resist, at least in those first few moments, before he's coming up to join her and then even more of a blink.

Perhaps he should have brought his drink with him.

"This has echoes of when I was summoned forth to be general of the Legion," says he seriously, and there's a glance at both Tyche and Sebastian, before he offers up, "May I do our house proud, may my voice bring peace to our Compact and our allies and fear to our enemies, and may I do proper honour to all with the trust I'm being given." And then the faintly boyish grin finds him before he says, "I trust the wisdom of this, as much as I'd been as terrified to become general."

Valencia's chin lifts as with proper decorum as each hero upon the stage is properly recognized and lauded, her dark eyes drifting from face to face as each accepts the medal that reflects their contributions and bravery. Her brows lift at the unexpected announcement and she turns to Patrizio and listens. A soft smile comes as the man makes his promises to his house and she bows her head in silent approval of his promise.

Each of the recipients are given quiet words by Sebastian, the artist's warmth and genuine sentiment evident. He turns his gaze towards Tyche with a bright smile of anticipation, turning his gaze on Patrizio. "To General Patrizio -- Choir of Pravus!" he calls. But he is out of wine -- the horror. "If a trick works the first time, no reason not to repeat it," the man calls to his fellow Voice, without any sign of chastisement. "Thank you to all of you," the prince calls. Savio's offering earns a mixture of expression; sympathy and disappointment both. "I understand. Thank you, Lord Savio. I'm sure it will have more meaning coming from you," he presses another of those medals into the lord's hands. Then he's casting around for Nisaa, seeking the Whisper's arm. "Please, tell me you have tasted the rum, Whisper Nisaa. It has such an interesting taste to it."

Titus is overheard praising Patrizio.

"Congratulations, Zio." Lucrezia smiles to his elevation to the Choir. Then she takes her rum in hand and heads for the rest of the booze. Finally, the part that she can get behind! Drinking!

Sebastian drops statues depicting the Battle of Skal'daja.

Raven is overheard praising Lucrezia.

Raven is overheard praising Savio.

Valencia is overheard praising Patrizio: An excellent man and a fine leader. Congratulations!

Graziella raises her glass when Patrizio is named to the choir and her recently somber grin shifts into something a little more sinister as she hides her smirk in another sip of wine.

Nina is overheard praising Patrizio.

Nina is overheard praising Lucrezia.

Nina is overheard praising Raven.

Nina is overheard praising Orland.

Savio accepts the second bit of star iron from Sebastian, and nods to him, murmuring something quietly before he steps away.

Nina is overheard praising Savio.

Wash inclines his head briefly in memory of the fallen and then sips his wine again, wandering the room a second time.

Erasmus raises a glass in toast to them, the Tydeborn having remained quiet the entire time; assuming his relaxed stance.

Nina is overheard praising Sebastian.

Slipping her arm into the crook of his, Nisaa rests her hand on Sebastian's forearm. "I have not as of yet, Prince Sebastian. Should I be going to get a glass?" She is looking for where the drinks might be and takes the opportunity to murmur something to Sebastian in the process.

Raimon joins Erasmus in the toast, just as he had heretofore been united with the man in their common silence

Nisaa is overheard praising Titus.

Nisaa is overheard praising Savio.

Nisaa is overheard praising Patrizio.

Cristoph is overheard praising Sebastian.

Cristoph is overheard praising Patrizio.

Cristoph is overheard praising Tyche.

Lucrezia takes her plundered rum and plops in the seat next to her sister, Graziella.

Lucrezia has joined the A Sumptous Set of Chairs for Conversation.

"Indeed," Tyche grins to Sebastian's philosophy on using the same trick twice. "We will have to find a third time to use the same, just to see if the General has learned his lesson yet." She looks back to Patrizio, a wicked glint to her eyes. "Something tells me it will work once more." She slips away from them now, taking her own advice to refill her drink and make her way through the crowd to find Cristoph.

Raven has left the A comfortable couch.

Raven rises from the couch, hugging Savio and kissing his cheek before she furtively looks about and ambles away from the couch.

"A third time?" Sebastian looks like he's definitely considering /that/, laughing, with a wink towards the rest of the Choir, as he steps down off the stage. "Over there, I think," Sebastian replies to Nisaa, guiding her over towards the side. On the way, he notices the silent Raimon and Erasmus, pausing to greet them. "Good evening," he nods to each. "I don't believe we've met, but I'm glad to welcome you here tonight. Prince Sebastian Pravus, and may I introduce the Whisper Nisaa?"

Whenever Tyche makes her way through the crowd, she'll be able to find Cristoph. He's just over there on the couches, considering this bottle of rum and looking as if he's perfectly content being right where he is. After all, this is a very nice couch.

As solemn moments are taken to remember the fallen and glasses raised in honour of those who served and to Sebastian and Tyche's announcement, Valencia's features seem to move from quiet contemplation kisses with a soft sadness to one of warmer regard. As drinks are call for and the presentations drift to more social occupations she offers those at the sofas a smile. "The artwork is truly breath taking, yes? Crafted with care I think for all those who rose to fight and to those who sadly made the ultimate sacrifice," she muses softly.

Erasmus found his attention pulled from the presented pieces of artwork to the approaching Prince and Whisper, the older sailor giving a curt and respectful bow. "Good evening, your Highness, Whisper. Allow me, on behalf of House Tyde to give our regards." He stood upright, nodding once. "I'm Lord Erasmus Tyde, thank you for allowin' me to bear witness to this all."

Raimon bows to Sebastian as he's addressed, offering: "Raimon of Thrax, by way of Fidante, Your Highness. A most beautiful ceremony, and most well - derved honors. One dearly hopes the memory of those Fallen will not fade, but inspire."

Ian is briefly assaulted by a hug from Savio and, after a moment of freezing up, gives the other man an extremely awkward pat on the back that turns about midway through into a sort of prodding door-ward. Or he's leaving, anyway. That much is clear.

Giorgio has joined the A comfortable couch.

Ian has left the A comfortable couch.

Savio has embraced and presumably issued farewells to his companions at the seating he shared, then steps away from the seating and offers for them, "I might come by in a little while." A smile is mustered up, just briefly, then he walks away, to pause at the statues of the siege of Tremorus. There he stands for a moment, briefly touching his fingertips to his lips and then kneeling to touch them to the base of the statue. He murmurs something in another language, and then slips away, out of the hall.

Raven slinks along the least crowded path towards the exit, actively avoiding encountering others on her way out.

Savio says in Arakkoan, "I am so sorry."

Zoey has left the A comfortable couch.

Octavian, a silken spaniel, Ruslana Stormshead, an aide in Kennex livery, 3 Kennex corsairs leave, following Zoey.

Zoey leaves, following Ian.

Savio has left the A comfortable couch.

Patrizio makes his way back over to the couches, and there's a breath that slides from him as he takes up his glass again. "I would argue that this is why I started drinking in the first place," he says, teasingly, to Valencia, Cristoph, Cerys and Raimon, as he chuckles and slowly shakes his head. "I'm thinking that I keep digging myself into interesting holes, but it seems the gods are at least smiling on us when they do so. They favour children, fools and... well, I know there's a third item in there."

3 Black Fleet Reavers, Moonsilver, the pale-feathered raven, 1 Iron Guardsmen leave, following Raven.

Nisaa walks with Sebastian towards the rum, but they stop to speak to Raimon and Erasmus. Introduced, she dips her head and lowers her eyes. "Pleasure to meet you both. It truly was a beautiful ceremony, wasn't it?"

As Patrizio returns, Valencia smiles and bows her head respectfully. "Congratulations upon your new appointment and to all the new responsibility. You have always wanted what is best for both your house and the Compact. I think you will serve both admirably," she nods warmly up at him. "You are alright?"

Cerys takes a sip from her glass and chuckles amicably at Patrizio, "No complaints." She then swirls the contents of her glass casually and nods at Valencia as she speaks, "Congratulations indeed."

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Graziella before departing.

"Ahh, yes. Vega's husband," Sebastian says with a bright laugh to Raimon. "I remember my cousin saying she was intending to hang one of my my paintings in your bedroom -- not sure whether that was a threat or promise, though." He tips his head a moment later to Erasmus. "Lord Erasmus. Thank you, and likewise, Pravus' regards. I'm glad to have you here. Be sure to claim one of the bottles of rum -- as a half-Thraxian, I can assure you it's excellent." He glances at Nisaa, expression bright.

Wash makes his excuses and heads for the door. He's put in an appearance.

Jayne, Burly Sailor leaves, following Wash.

Patrizio appreciatively smiles to Cerys and Valencia. "Thank you. I hope that I can pie a voice to bring everyone together, as well as represent my house... and we'll see how that one goes." The jade eyes do turn, briefly, over his shoulder towards Tyche and Sebastian again, with that boyish smile that speaks to how this is still an unfamiliar thing to him, but hen back to the group with whom he's be sitting. "After all, as I said, everyone had far more confidence in me as a general than I did, when I'd but commanded the pikes before. Perhaps this will come as naturally."

"Aye, I've only recently learned of the conflict, of the loss." Erasmus gestures towards the artwork and statues, the man's expression remaining calm and collected, answering Nissa's question. "To lose people, loyal figures, in such a way bears weight on a leader's shoulders. It takes considerable strength and wisdom to reflect on them, praise them. I commend House Pravus for remembering its fallen." Looking to Sebastian and the offer, he dips his head once more. "Thank you kindly, your Highness."

Graziella takes a dark ampule of hungry leeches from a simple cloth bag embroidered with the phases of the moon.

Cristoph's eyes occasionally glance out and over the moving crowd, but he doesn't move from his spot just yet. He does slip somewhat forward in his seat, perched out the edge of it rather than leaning back against it. "Congratulations, Prince Patrizio. You're a fine choice for such an appointment. I'm sure you'll serve your family most honorably." His fingers tap idly on the arm of the couch and he catches sight of something that he's looking for, before returning to the people positioned near him.

Graziella takes a small unassuming black jar from her bag and waggles it adoringly at Lucrezia while they chat.

"You're weird!" Lucrezia declares of her sister. She'd know! She's animated as they resume their conversation.

As things move towards celebrations, Titus gives a few words of thanks and heads out.

Another nod is offered to Cerys along with a smile. "I had forgotten how busy such events like this are. Have you been to many since you returned to the city, Princess Cerys? I'm sorry I did not greet you properly, I did not know you had returned," Valencia offers with warm accord, dark eyes flicking to Patrizio to offer him another smile. "It is a difficult task, but one worth doing, yes?"

Raimonn laughs aloud good-naturedly at something Sebastian has just conveyed in a whisper, and Raimon replies in kind thereafter.

"We always look after our own," Sebastian replies to Erasmus with a weight that contains genuine sentiment, smiling brightly as he adds, "If anything can be said well of us by other Houses, none could deny that. Sadly, it is not the first -- nor, I suspect, will it be the last such risk we will need to take." Raimon's whisper is met with a nod and a knowing smile. "The prince is asking as to the nature of the painting I depicted that his wife holds. Shall we find ourselves somewhere to sit together and discuss?" he invites, glancing between the Thraxian prince, Lord Tyde, and the Whisper, gesturing towards the couches.

"We were on our way to get some," Nisaa says to Erasmus after Sebastian mentions the rum. "If you would like a sample, and by that, I am meaning a glass, you could walk with us." At the mention of Sebastian's cousin hanging one of his paintings in the bedroom, she glances to Raimon, then back to Sebastian. She says nothing, but smiles.

Cerys lifts a hand and waves it lightly, "Worry not," she says to Valencia, "And yes, I have been present at a few, albeit perhaps a bit in the background as I catch up.. or, yes," she chuckles.

Patrizio nods appreciatively to Cristoph at the congratulations. "Hopefully I do this as well as I fight in duels," he muses quietly, as if that's perhaps going to play with their earlier discussion about dueling. And Valencia's comment does get a little bit of a smile. "No task worth doing was ever easy, to be fair, but... I hope to rise to the occasion with this one. Don't think this will keep me out of your Hart, though - I might still bring my work there with me."

Raimon laughs. "By all means. And, thank you -- for a fond memory, of happier times. We could all use more of such!"

"I shall gladly come along, many faces I do not know, nor have I had pleasure of meetin' most. So idle drink among new faces are welcomed," Erasmus replies, turning to all three of them now to give a nod of his head. He relaxes his stance, arms falling back to his side from behind his back, still partially obscured the timeworn coat he wore over his shoulders.

Cristoph has left the A Couple of Couches in Sumptuous Silk.

Rupert, the Laurent Archivist, 2 Valardin Knights, 1 Laurent veteran guards leave, following Cristoph.

Cristoph leaves, following Tyche.
