I know I have complained before about how unfair it is that people in Arx are so ignorant to all the powers and craziness that happen both inside our city and throughout the lands of Arvum. How in all of creation have the Arvani survived through all these years? I mean, I recently was told stories of evil /bunny/ uprisings. I can't say I 100% believe bunnies can become evil masterminds. It has to be some sort of trick or something that led to these stories. Then again, with all the CRAZY things I have witnessed in my days, I wouldn't be surprised.

I have been gone far too long. I have a great deal to catch up on and it feels like little time to do so with trouble abounding in every corner of the compact it seems.

It was nice to have dinner and a chat with the Pathfinder and some other notable faces and get a sense of what is what. I finally learned what Malcolm's been up to so that's one mystery solved.

The estimates for the reconstruction of Artshall has begun pouring in from our lands. Apparently building a city is as costly as well, building a city.

I suppose that trip to the Oathlands for inspiration actually worked. I managed to come up with a new sketch after a few failed attempts at a winter theme. Something more colorful, which will work well enough as winter will soon turn to spring. Daggers and swords are now in the shop, including a diamondplate piece. That one will probably sit for a bit, but that's alright - it bothers me when the shelves are empty anyhow.
I really want to work on some bows next. Maybe I should take another trip.

YAWN! If one twin is not awake and wet, hungry or bored and wanting cuddling, then the other one is. It is taking my assistant Micana, my nanny-researcher Jatal and myself all working in shifts to cope with the little darlings. Thank goodness I have experienced help.

The Redrain Villa has a study that I have loved since the day I came to Arx. It is one of the most comfortable and pleasant rooms in the estate but isn't used as much as it should be. There often isn't time to just sit and enjoy the room for its comfort. Today I took that time, though, even if it may have been somewhat irresponsible of me. I've had no few meetings in the study - small ones, mind you. I always sit in the same chair, which doesn't necessarily make it mine, of course, but I certainly favor it. I've had the incredible fortune to convince some rather amazing people from the Compact to come meet in the study - from first introductions to fearful discussions, to ambitious talks with family and friends. I'm so grateful for those interactions, each and every one. People sometime say, 'If these walls could talk.' The study at the villa is certainly one of those rooms for me, if only to revisit with people who aren't able to come visit it again.

I had retired to my quarters for the evening, going so far as to remove the adornments from my hair and person. A proper bath, I thought, and then some light reading.
With my hair down like a wild man, I spilled a bottle of blue and violet dyes. When they had settled, the water was a mixture, but the bubbles that arose from the mess were a color I will never forget. And then they popped.

The simple promise of a returning spring can often be the seed of hope we need to weather even the harshest of winters. I look forward to seeing the world blossom anew.

Every day I awaken is another day Arx endures, and each day I will remember. I hope others too speak the words and bring them to life each day.
I shall feed my hungry brethren; I nourish as a mother;
I shall honor soil and seed; I am fertile as a father;
I change as the world changes; I light the path ahead;
I return to my ultimate beginning; I face the end without dread;
I swear no oath I shall not keep, I love without reserve;
I speak no lies before gods or men, I judge every soul by its deserve;
I accept the kindness of the gods, I give freely of my charity to all;
I keep no brother or sister in chains, I claim my choice come rise or fall.
I learn all the gods have to teach, I take in wisdom respite;
I act with every breath in honor, I surrender no righteous fight;
I create with hue and light, I bring forth new life with my every mark;
I praise the Dream Eternal; I swear my life to protect it from the dark.

Zealotry makes people uncomfortable because it's more convenient and safe to be indifferent, to kick the problem to tomorrow's burden. But we should never be lukewarm, instead we should be like father phoenix and burn hot and uncompromising in this life. A Child of Sangris rejects indifference for the enemy is all in and we should be as well.
The Code demands no less.
Shine bright even if you feel you are but one flame against the encroaching cold and darkness for those you save will glow as well as their children and their children's children to the end as your life's choice ripples and reverberates in the great dream of life. After all, we never pray for victory but instead to stand to the end with honour unbroken.

Happy birthday to me. I spent my birthday pacing the floor and chatting with the midwife and giving birth to another set of twins! That is 6 children I have now. Piper and Carol...so tiny!

It was an amazing night, one which I would love to attempt again.
The shear number that fought bravely within the melee contest was almost overwhelming. There were several moments in which I was sure that I would be knocked out or pushed from the ring. The winds were upon my back and sought that bells were to stay. My glaive saved me more times than I can count.

Is it spring yet? I do not want to wish my life away, but I long for warmer weather.
That said, this hot chocolate is delicous.
