Rohm the Blackguard arrives, following Caelis.

Rohm the Blackguard leaves, following Caelis.

With the sun hanging low within the horizon, leaving the faintly clouded skies awash in a kaleidoscope of hazy oranges and soft pinks, the faintest twinkle of stars are easily seen as twilight looms. Aboard The Unsullied, lantern lights serve as a beacon to party guests and curious passer-byer alike, its Valardin House flags whipping in the light breezes high above from the main masts.

Katarina stands at the top of the boarding planks, waiting to receive each of her guests personally like a proper captain should.

Ender, a Silver Gyrfalcon arrives, following Marian.

Ender, a Silver Gyrfalcon have been dismissed.

Dressed in his best loud ship's captain gear, Ford Kennex makes his way up the gangplank his gold filigree'd violet coat giving him a dramatic air as he stops in front of Katarina, "Princess, you have a mighty fine vessel here."

Alis is not actually in full combat gear as her list of worn items would suggest. But she is sporting one of those strange armor and silk hybrid dresses that the Valardin consider fashionable. And like almost anyone who spends approximately zero time in boats, there's a briefly wary purse of her lips before she prompts herself a bright smile with which she can greet Katarina at the top of the boarding planks. "It all looks very lovely, Kat. You've outdone yourself."

Kahlana moves aboard the ship her green eyes sparkling, her attention moves over feature to feature, as the Northern Viscountess makes her way into the boat.. she smiles as the winds from the sea ruffle her whits blond hair and she grins a shit eatting grin "man it feels good to be on a fucken ship." she says before she catches Fords voice and she moves to walk along side him "Greetings Sir." she tells him

Today of all days, an oddity occurs. Victus has actually taken the time to get properly dressed. Though for him, that is to say he's come wearing a black fur mantle that hung over his shoulders and eclipsed his armor in an ebony cloak. The image of red serpent raising from the bottom of the garment to where his shoulder blades would be is embroidered into the garment. He holds a rather chubby and particularly unenthusiastic looking feline in his left hand. On his right, he is locked arm in arm with the girl known as Thistle. He nearly dwarfs her by a full head of height and then some, yet they are hardly looking out of place across the dock. He is right at home here, by the sea.

He would approach the gangplank, flanked by his retinue, his soot-colored eyes staring up the image of Lady Katarina at the top. "Permission to come aboard the big shiny galley, Princess?"

Katarina pinkens with exuberant delight at the praises set upon her. "It was the work of the collective Oathlands, and generous trade partners like the Marquessa Deepwood who are to thank for this coming together so wonderfully," she informs Ford and Alis through soft laughter, gently squeezing Alis' arm before turning at the shout of Victus and his entourage awaiting to board. "Permission granted, Your Grace! You and your lot may come aboard," she sounds off, officiously, with laughter in her golden eyes.

Joining the line up the gang plank, Caelis is in her armor, hawks in flight across her ribs. She has her guard accompanying her as the Admiral approaches. "Your Highness, what a fine ship you have." She murmurs once she reaches the top and bows to the Princess.

Marian arrives minus her escort who is running late this evening. She steps aboard the ship after the Thrax entourage, wearing breeches for freedom of movement rather than a dress. She does look like she'd fit in well with a pirate with her peace-tied twin shortswords and Oathbinder on her back. She smiles at Katarina, "Lovely as always." She gives her exuberant adopted sister a quick bow before moving on since she has other people to greet.

Ford dips his head to Kahlana as he makes his way around Kat and onto the ship after greeting her, putting a friendly hand between Alis' shoulder blades since the three of them seem to be in a slight traffic jam. No ME first!

Katarina brightens immensely at the sight of Marian coming up the line, but it's Caelis who receives the Valardin-Eurusi's infectious smile first and foremost, "Lady Admiral, it's a pleasure to finally have you in my sights. Please, enjoy yourself tonight and witness the beautiful change being heralded in for the Oathlands." A sweeping gesture toward the ship behind her, and then it's all she can do to stop herself from outright tackling Marian for a hug. She probably wants to squee, like abyss, but won't. Yet.

Alis gives a brief nod of greeting to those coming up the pank behind her, Victus included, before stepping out of the way alongside Ford. "Time to hit the bar." she quips, her tactical sized self spinning on her heel so that she can seek out the alcohol that helps get one through these large and crowded social occasions.

Dagon comes marching up the gangplank at some point in the mess of people arriving, not early, not late. You know. Casual timing or something. He's dressed decently, though fashionable for him still seemingly means his spikey red armor, as with Thrax, who knows when a party on a boat is going to turn into a raiding party on a boat. Or, you know, some other violent escapade. Though, like his liege, he's taken the effort to dress it up a little, at least adding a cloak as well as a tabard embroidered with his new Tyde colors and symbol: may as well play the part in full. He makes a point of coming up behind Victus' large entourage, pausing a moment before Katarina as well, to be given permission or just to do some polite greetings. "Captain-Princess." Sure, maybe that's a title.

"It's a fine sight to see." Caelis beams at Katarina and moves past as she greets others. Trailing her fingers along railing she takes her time inspecting the boat as others come aboard.

Marian gives Katarina a firm hug, "It's a delight." She motions to the decorations and food that has been put out for the questions, "You've outdone yourself." She lets her go, "I look forward to getting a tour of this ship." She then steps aside so others can greet the hostess and moves to join Alis on seeking out alcohol.

Ford lifts his eyebrows in response to Alis desire for some booze, he nods, "I couldn't agree more." He glances around, "Let's think tactically about this, you take the eastern front, I'll take west, daily reports on our findings, yes?"

Captain-Princess. Admiral. Smidget. Princess-Transplant. Katarina's probably heard them all, and Dagon is well-received with a vibrant laugh and the infectious warmth of her dimpled smile all the same, "It's good to see you, Duke Tyde. I trust Duchess Margot is settling in well with her new role as a mother of such a handsome little Tyde tyke?" A hint of humor in those words, before she's smiling up at Marian, calling out, "You'll be the first! I promise!"

Kahlana dances round Ford and the Princesses her eyes move over those that have gathered, she gives a curt nod of her head to Dagon and then Victus, followed by nodding her head to Edain, and Marian.. oooh all the High Royals are greeted.

Alis links her arm with Marian's once she is close enough, and laughs brightly at Ford's suggested plan of attack. "I approve, good sir." is quipped. A brief tug on Marian's arm is given to hopefully direct her towards 'their' starting point of the bar where wine and whiskey await.

Edain makes his way up the ramp the ramp so that he can greet Katarina who is meeting people at as the board the ship. He bows to her and says, "It is good to see you Princess Katarina. It looks to be quite the gathering you have planned." He says with a smile as he looks around the deck of the Eurusi-ish ship. He bows his head to familiar faces and quickly slips out of the receiving line so that Katarina can go back to greeting people. The Prince of Sanctum? He is going to find the refreshment table.

"She's recovering, mostly," Dagon replies to Katarina, woman-of-many-titles. "But recovering well, we expect no troubles, and our daughter seems healthy. Gods willing, all will continue as such." He then takes a sweeping glance around the deck. "Though I'm just barely off another ship, this does seem a very fitting way to settle into things back home." Spotting Kahlana, he gives her a smile back. "Making yourself a common sight around our Ward, hmm?" Then, answering some background chatter he's heard from some familiar mouths, he calls over, "Did I hear something about drinks?"

Dagon probably did hear something about drinks, but the offending parties had split off before being caught. An apt listener may find Ford at one of the bars. Probably the one starboard side, as mandated by his tactical plan.

Marian follows arm and arm with Alis over to the bar where wine and whiskey can be had. She looks at her sister and murmurs, "I like the outfit...very nice." Once at the bar, she orders some mead...surely they have mead at this occassion. She smiles when she gets confirmation. She takes a few pieces of crab meat that is being passed around the tray while she waits for her drink to be served.

Once the bulk of onboarding guests have been seen to, Katarina leaves word for one of her crew to keep the planks lowered in case of stragglers before she's migrating toward the refreshments table with a bubbly laugh. "Alis, Marian! I brought something special for us to drink," she declares, raising her hand to beckon them over to the side while she rummages through her silks' folds for a cask. Where does she keep getting these things?

Kahlana grins a little as she shares a word with Dagon before she smiles and nods her head "indeed!" she says before she turns to get herself a drink. The Wild woman looks about with a small twitch of her lips as she enjoys being on the ship.

Glancing about, Caelis smiles to Ford and Edain before offering Alis a nod as well. She seems content to avoid the crowd at the refreshment table and continues walking along the deck and taking in the details of the ship with interest.

Katarina checked dexterity + all at difficulty 9, rolling 15 higher.

Katarina drops a small cask of exotically spiced Eurusian rum.

Retrieves a mead from the refreshment table, and procures a second, perhaps to be a chaser, but then he approaches the railing where Lady Admiral Caelis is avoiding the crowd and admiring the exotic ship. "Mead?" he offers to the young Lady.

Edain retrieves a mead from the refreshment table, and procures a second, perhaps to be a chaser, but then he approaches the railing where Lady Admiral Caelis is avoiding the crowd and admiring the exotic ship. "Mead?" he offers to the young Lady.

Katarina has all the best drinks and Marian gives a look of appreciation when she sees the spiced Eurusian rum that Katarina produces for their drinking pleasure. She looks at the mead in her hand and puts it aside, getting a glass from the bartender so she can try this new brew. She gives a wink to Edain as if to let him know that his Sword plans to behave...mostly. She looks to Alis to see if she wants to try a drink first.

True to her word, Katarina sets down a small cask of rum upon the table, pouring a cup for both herself, Marian and Alis with a cheek-dimpling smile. "I've been saving this cask for this special day," she explains. "The rest? For my wedding, I imagine. Or Edain's. Whichever actually happens first," she murmurs under her breath in cospiratorial tones toward her sisters, golden eyes pointedly eyeing the back of Edain as he walks off. "Lady Kahlana," she calls upon the Crovane lady. "Would you like to join us?"

Dagon shares a word with Kahlana in turn, then gives her a grin and a nod just vaguely across the deck. "Well, good hunting." This leaves him to tactical maneuverings, that may involve pursuit of Ford or a general attack on the bar. Or something. Anyway, he shows up to grab a drink of his own. "What's the flavor of the evening?" It's probably rum, because it's so often rum aboardship. Oh, it's fancy rum, he now realizes, as a barrel is getting opeened. Foreign rum. He raises a brow. "Eurusian?" A click of the tongue. No rum?

Ulf arrives, following Fergus.

"I promised the family seamstress back home, that I would wear more Oathlands creations." Alis admits to Marian, tapping one of the metal scales at the waist of her dress with an amused smile. "So when I receive a parcel from Sanctum with her name on it, I know I better wear it or she will stick me with pins next time I go home." See her sadface.S Since there is much seafood to try, she asks for a glass of white wine. And spotting Dagon she lifts her glass in recognition. "It's nice to see you, Duke Tyde. My congratulations to you and your lovely wife on the birth of your firstborn." ((Sorry if I missed anyone due to sucky connection))

"Would you like to join us?" (repeat for Alis)

"Thank you, your Grace." Caelis smiles and accepts the glass. "So, do you suppose Valardin's ships will echo this beauty? It's an interesting design." She comments and then blinks, straightening a little. "Oh, this will be one of your first times on a ship won't it?" She asks politely, an easy smile on her lips.

Says Caelis to Edain, I talk to people. Honest. >.>

Ford has taken to wandering the ship. Coming from Stormward, home of the Shipwright's guild. The make and model, as it were, of the vessal. He's just kicking the tires, pushing all the buttons.

Sir Rodrick, a Valardin Knight, Spirit, the Tiny Honey Brown Fox Kit arrive, following Sasha.

Kahlana hears her name and she comes close to the Princess with a little smile "oh? Is the High Prince getting married? Do tell?!" she was all about getting gossip from the Princess captain with a smile, "such a wounderous ship indeed."

Fergus is supposed to be someone's date. Not of much in the way of eye-candy if the scarred-up Redrain Sword can't be bothered to show up at the proper time.Could be a bit irony in that the person he's supposed show up with didn't do so herself the last time they went to something together. But getting a boat is a whole new deal for him, and the standing at the foot of the gangplank, he eyes the boat warily. Like it's going to bite him or something. A frown creases his lips before finally doing what any other northern man would do, sucks it up and starts to walk up onto the deck.

Sasha was a little late with her own arrival upon the ship, she insisted on bringing things and Rodrick had to put them all in his bag. Not to mention make sure that she had plenty of provisions to keep her strength up and get her here. As she is carefully guided over to Katarina, she takes her cousin's arm as she says "It is a wonderful ship, sorry I am a bit late."

Spirit, the Tiny Honey Brown Fox Kit have been dismissed.

This is how rumors start! Alis covers her smile by lifting her glass up to her lips. "I don't believe so. I should hope I at least get to meet my future sister-in-law and interr... I mean, get to know her, before there's a wedding." she points out, in an obviously joking voice. "If you want some helping picking the perfect day, Kat. You just let me know."

"Yes, Duke Tyde, please accept my congratulations. I do hope your wife is doing well," Marian echoes Alis' greeting to Dagon. She frowns when Katalina mentions weddings...specifically her liege. She gives a look to Alis to see if Katarina is just joking or if their brother has found his other half. She offers her glass out to try some of the wine, keeping her mead close in case it's not her style. She does catch the arrival of Fergus out of the corner of her eye and then motions for him to join her with the others that are trying the spiced rum that Katarina brought out. Sasha also gets a smile as she makes her late arrival after her date.

Katarina nearly chokes up with laughter, shaking her head at Kahlana. "No, it was a joke," she quickly clears the air with a wave of a hand, lifting a glass of the rum for the lady to take. "Prince Edain, ah, ... isn't getting married, but when... if..." She just lets Alis clear the air. "I'd love the help," she agrees, squeezing Sasha's hand when she suddenly appears on her arm. "Sasha, you made it!" Fergus, as well, gets a wave.

Ulf have been dismissed.

Dagon snags a drink that isn't the special rum. Maybe just average rum, or even good, knock you off your feet and rot your gut rum. He's not all that picky. Drink secured, he coems back around to the gathering that seems to be occurring in Edain's vague vicinity, which, well, is a sensible place for it to occur if one thinks about it. His cup is lifted back at Alis and Marian, in recognition of their offers of congratulations. "Thank you. She's in good health and spirits, have no fear," he explains, loudly enough that hopefully no one should miss it. "Though still recovering, or else I am sure we'd see her here." A beat. "But forget that, did I hear something about the Prince getting- oh, thank goodness." He laughs. "Let him enjoy his freedom a while longer."

Gino, a surly sailor arrives, following Antonio.

Kahlana grins to the Princes's and she gives a faint bow to each of them with a large smile "Well, maybe now that we are out of the siege, we can hope you royals will find the loves your looking for!" she declares before she beams a little and she raises her glass to drink with the pair of them.

Sasha smiles warmly to Katarina as she comments "I was about to say that I had no idea Edain was getting married. But I am glad you were jesting." A warm smile is offered to Marian along with a soft nod of her head. Her attention is then upon Dagon as she offers "My apologies about yesterday Duke Tyde. I had been running all over Arx and had accidentally over-exerted myself."

Normally, this isn't really Fergus' thing, but he was asked to drop by. Once stepping upon the boat's deck, he takes a moment to really allow himself to get used to the fact that what his feet are standing is moving. That is not going to set well with him at all, causing him to give a bit of a grunt, giving a nod at Katarina while crossing the distance over to Marian. "Hey. Sorry I'm late." he says in his usual growly tone.

Katarina raises her glass to her lips, a small smile hidden against the rim as she takes a long drought of her rum. "I'm hoping to wait for the later months, when the colors of autumn are at their peak before the cold sets in," she describes quietly to Alis, Sasha, and Marian briefly about her dream wedding day. "If you'll excuse me a moment?" Then, the young hostess is moving on to greet Antonio when she sees the Velenosan prince preparing to board the ship.

Marian raises her glass at Dagon's sentiment to let Edain enjoy his freedom longer, and takes a drink. She turns to Fergus who apologizes for being late, "It's fine. We were just breaking out the rum and perhaps some dancing later." The 'dancing' word is said in a teasing fashion, a nod to the last time they went on a date. She glancs at Sasha when she mentions an earlier episode with Ford. There's a tiny bit of worry there because her cousin is so delicate, "Sasha, are you sure you're up for an event this evening?" She's about to say something else to Katarina but then the hostess if off greeting Antonio who just arrived.

"I swear I have not pressured the man in any way." Alis vows, lips quirking. "Though I may or may not be compiling extensive dossiers on those I think would suit him. And I would certainly never think to make an entire tactical plan about the matter." Is she... she's joking right? Hopefully she's joking. "That sounds an excellent time of year." is murmured to Kat, before the Eurusi born has fled towards the gangplank again. "Prince Fergus. It's good to see you."

Sasha's soft blue eyes follow to where Katarina is heading, her face lighting up with joy as she sees Antonio. Her attention then looks to Marian as she says "I took a nap. I am sure I will be fine and Sir Rodrick brought plenty of provisions for me. I will take it easy. I promise. Though let me help Katarina great Prince Antonio." As she slips away to follow after Katarina with a bright smile on her lips.

Ford has joined the along the stern.

Fergus makes a face at the mention of dancing, looking like he's suddenly having horrible flashbacks. "Rum I can handle. Plenty, in fact. But if you're going to drag me out onto the dancefloor on a floor that ain't solid, not gonna be responsible if I break any fucking toes. So gonna be up to you to make me look good. Again. Thinking at some point I should take lessons or something." Alis is greeted with a nod from the big Redrain. "Alis, how you doing? Heard you got hitched. Who's the lucky bastard?"

Kahlana laughs as she talks to the women of the realm and she snickers a little as people play a bit on Eadin's expense. Her eyes follow the hostess as she greets Antonio and she murmers softly to those she sits near, her eyes deeply set on watching conversations.

A social event on a ship. Something, perhaps, that Antonio Velenosa can't resist. And so the Lenosian prince arrives to make an appearance, attended as usual, by a rather grumpy looking member of his crew. As he's approached by both Katarina and Sasha, the young man 'graces' both women with a smile and a nod of his head. "Highnesses." There does seem to be something just a little reserved about him right now.

Edain nods to Caelis and says, "That is our hope.. or at least some of the designed technigues can help improve our small little fleet." Edain says as he leans against the railing and largely people watches.

Kahlana murmers to the ladies and she smirks before she looks over those that she was around "Highness's" she tries "do you all need more to drink?" she asks as she moves to get the group refils

Marian chuckles at Fergus' remark on dancing, "My toes survived the last time. I'm sure they'll be fine again." She gives Alis a sideways glance that lets her know that she hopes she's not pressuring Edain to get married, "I'm sure our liege will find someone in his own time." She takes a sip of her rum and smiles at how the flavors tickle her tongue, "This isn't bad at all. Much better than some of the rotgut I've had before."

"Doing very well, thank you." Alis replies to Fergus question, leaning over to murmur at Khalana a moment in reponse to a question before she continues. "You're too kind. I'm actually wed now to Marian's cousin Fiachra." She gives a nod there to her sister-in-law. "I'm relatively certain too, that all of us save the Thrax and those few naval members of other Houses feel much as you do about dancing aboard a ship. They will no doubt outshine us all this evening." is admitted, with candor. "So I say, drink up! May as well enjoy making fools of ourselves."

Sipping the mead, Caelis allows her eyes to wander the crowd. Poor Edain. To the Prince she murmurs quietly "It's not to late to make a swim for it." She smiles and leans on the railing much more comfortable with the socializing in this naval setting.

While Katarina and Sasha have gone to welcome Prince Antonio aboard, crew members deftly raise the gangplank and anchor with practiced finnese. The sails are fully unfurled to reveal the vibrant white silhouette of a dragon, the Valardin House's symbol. With a smooth manipulation of oars, the longship is smoothly exiting port to head toward the open expanse of the bay. Winds soon pick up, gently rustling at the silks and linens of guests as musicians begin a lively number that echoes over the main decks.

Sasha softly leans in to whisper something into Antonio's ear before she happily responds "A pleasure to see you Your Highness. Would you care for something to drink?" Her hand grasps onto Katarina's arm as she feels the shifting of the ship, seeming to be needing her cousin's assistance for the moment.

"Apologies? Hardly needed. Just so long as you were alright," Dagon answers Sasha, shaking his head. "We all have days like that, and if you ran yourself as ragged as that, I'm sure it was for good reason." The man then takes to a few moments of good drinking. If there's going to be dancing or any other sort of wild partying, he had best be well in his cups first. The man knows from experience that a certain degree of that is necessary before he can appear anything remotely near 'festive.' In the midst of drinking, he does have opportunity to greet some of those who join them, including the two recently-arrived Princes, Velenosan and Redrain respectively. "Highnesses, welcome. Oh!" He turns to glance off. "Seems we're under sail and you're all trapped now.

"I'm glad you could make it aboard," Katarina softly to Antonio, delivering a gentle squeeze of his arm as golden eyes find Sasha. "I trust you'll keep our dear friend company, Sasha?" Red-glazed lips set a quick kiss to her cheek before Katarina continues moving on toward the starboard, peeking over the railing with a small smile to watch the waters rolling past as the ship begins to sail over cresting waves.

"If I could have everyone's attention for a moment, please?" the normally soft-spoken Eurusi projects her voice with some difficulty over the gathered crowd, moving to the center of the main deck with a fresh-filled glass in her hand.

Marian looks up as the sails unfurl and lets out a smile as the House Valardin symbol is prominantly featured. She holds onto Fergus when the boat moves, taking a moment to find her own sea legs. She turns to Fergus with a twinkle in her eye, "So late...but not too late since you made it for the launch." She turns to Edain and raises her glass to him and then to Katarina to let them know she's proud of this ship that Katarina is showing off tonight.

Kahlana gathers a few more Drinks and she passes one off to Alis she shrugs and murmers as she takes up another glass as she people watches and listens to other conversations. She was respectful of the nulti Princess conversation she was having nestled up amongst the noble females, then she quiets as attention was called.

"Married Mari's cousin, eh?" Fergus gives glances between Marian and Alis. "Well. Congrats, even if it's a little late. Wish you the best. Greenmarchers got good taste, seems like." The usually stone-faced man gives a wink to Marian at that. "Just so people knows, Mari is the one that leads, I just stumble a long when she drags me out dancing." Eyeing the glass in Marian's hand, he gives her a little hand. "You gonna let me try that?" Once the boat starts moving, he has to lean back to steady himself. "Fuck. This is really happening, isn't it."

Ford claps his hand on Fergus' back as he walks by to get his glass more booze in it, "Don't worry big guy, you start feeling weird." He gestures out to the water, "Eyes on the horizon. Trust me."

Sasha smiles happily up to Katarina as she says "I would love to keep Prince Antonio company." Her hands moving to gently take Antonio's arm to let Katarina flit off to continue her hostress duties. Her hand grabbing a glass of rum for Antontio and offering it to him as her attention looks fully upon Katarina.

"And if that doesn't help," Dagon echoes after Ford, as he tries to put Fergus the apparent landlubber at ease, "Just stay close to the rail. No shame in giving some of your last meal back to the fishes." Pause. "Well, there's a little shame, but you'll get over it, and we'll probably not mock you the rest of your living days." This aside, he does give attention where it is called for, glancing over at Katarina.

Marian moves her eyes to the horizon as Ford counsels Fergus and then smiles as it gets a little easier for her to keep her footing, "That's a good trick Your Excellency. Thank you." Then she offers the glass to Fergus so he can try the foreign spiced rum, "Katarina brought it up especially for this occassion." Luckily the movement only has her feet unsteady, not her lunch.

Alis finishes off her wine, and will now have a glass of the newly offered rum. Which at this rate means she'll need a guard to tote her home. "Of course she leads. This is Marian we're talking about." As if she had any doubt. "Oh, no doubt that's very helpful Dagon." she jokes, seeming outwardly at ease despite the movement of the ship. But she does quiet, looking toward Katarina when her sister calls for their attention.

Ford smirks back at Marian as he continues walking towards the bar set up, "Most important? Don't fight it, move -with- the ship, not against it!"

Katarina checked composure at difficulty 10, rolling 5 higher.

Once the attentions of the assorted nobility amassed have been successfully wrangled, Katarina sucks in a calming breath as cheeks burn with a sudden shyness at being the center of attention. It's an effort to keep herself relaxed, made all the easier with a few sips of rum, and she doesn't run and cower.
"I wanted to thank everyone for coming out to celebrate this special moment for House Valardin and its vassals," she speaks with a clarity, her gaze finding Edain, Alis, Sasha and Marian in the crowd. "This ship represents the change that is coming to our lands, of the growth of an infantile navy, that we hope will some day soon be a force to contend with." A well-humored wink is slanted toward Dagon and Ford, a silent challenge issued. "I propose a toast that this monumental task we've undertaken continues to be blessed by the Gods, in that new alliances and friends are forged in our quest to overcome the difficulties of the Eventide and expand our trade."

"To House Valardin, it's navy, and all our friends!"

Fergus checked stamina at difficulty 10, rolling 16 higher.

Kahlana checked stamina at difficulty 10, rolling 5 higher.

"No, no, I'm fine. Just tired," Antonio says in response to whatever it is that Sasha murmers to him, letting the young woman take his arm, though he politly refuses the rum. Anything else he might have to say is lost as the ship sets off, and Katarina makes her speech.

"Drop me naked in the mountains in winter and I'm just fine." Fergus says, clearly not used to the movement, possibly this being the first time being on sea-faring vessel. To his credit, he does listen to the advice given to him, one being to keep his eyes peeled on the horizon, and secondly to try and sway with the movement of the ship a little. Drinking from the glass Marian gives him may help. Or well, help him, anyways. "Good stuff." he decides on, handing the glass back the fellow Sword. "Yeah, she leads. Once I get my armor fixed and my leg healed up, plan on having a rematch with her." He's not *too* green around the gills, but a little pale.

Marian checked stamina at difficulty 10, rolling 21 higher.

Sasha checked stamina at difficulty 10, rolling 5 lower.

Kahlana looks over as the boat begins to set sail, she wobbles a little but she seems to be handling the sea pretty well so far. She waves lightly to Prince Antonio in a bright friendly manner before watching how the other nobles take to the movement.

Sasha actually continues to hold the glass of rum in her hands. She sips upon it at the toast but wrinkles her nose as she swallows, quickly handing it off to Rodrick as she says "Oh my... that is strong." Though she is quickly heading for the rails and slipping away from Antonio to feed the fishes. Poor dear has never been on a ship before after all.

Katarina checked dexterity at difficulty 10, rolling 19 higher.

Alis checked stamina at difficulty 10, rolling 2 higher.

"It's practical," Dagon echoes back at Alis, semi-seriously. "Sea legs are what they are. Best prepare the man for the foe he may face. Though the water seems relatively fair, at least. I figure he should be fine so long as there's no chop." In any case, he turns his attention to Katarina and her speech, the corner of his mouth turning upward slightly at that look he gets. "It's no small thing, building a navy, and I ought know, but you're off to a fine start, it seems. To House Valadrin." He raises up what remains of his rum to toast, and then tosses the rest back. Fergus gets another look to check how he's doing. "Good man. Steady on."

Marian is holding up well against the movement, her stomach steady as the boat moves over the water. She takes her glass up and then finishes the rum, and then reclaims her glass of mead. She then motions for the bartender to bring her date a drink, "I think the more I drink the less it bothers me that my feet are moving under me." She notices Sasha's call to the sea and then grimaces, "Poor girl..." She turns to Dagon and nods as he comments about House Valardin's start, "It's a start...and a good one. Katarina has been one of the key folks working on the project. I'm glad she's getting her due on this."

Alis makes a face at the idea of being dropped naked into the mountain ranges. No thanks. She'll pass on that experience! "Yes, I can see the wisdom in that." she'll admit, finally, at Dagon. Notably it's said after the ship is moving and swaying a bit and her brow furrows while she tries to focus on anything except how it makes the stomach lurch a little. Focusing on Kat's speech is for the best and she claps cheerfully for the other woman's accomplishment, pride evident in her expression.

"Figure at some point in my life I'm going to have to fight on a boat. Don't when, but not a bad idea to get used to it now. Don't want to be tossing my lunch while in mid-fucking-swing." Fergus considers, taking the drink that Marian brings him. "Though, if and when that happens, probably want to wear something lighter, eh? Sink like a damn rock if I was wearing what I usually do." Drinking help, it seems. The problem and solution to all of life's problems.

When Katarina takes notice of Sasha losing her stomach's contents over the rails, she can't help but cast a sympathetic look in her direction. But with Antonio still over there to aid her, she's turning her focus onto the others. The blush of her cheeks deepens as she moves forward to link arms with Alis. "Deep breaths," she encourages her quietly. "In through your nose, out through the mouth slowly." Her glass is lifted in toast to Dagon. "It is the only way to progress forward when we're not a land-locked society, I find," she says, glancing toward Caelis and Edain as they remain off to the side. "Oh! Now that we're along the way, why don't we get some games started?"

Kahlana's wave is returned with Antonio's free hand... but as usual, before the prince can say or do anything, something happens that he needs to react to- namely Sasha running to the rail and puking. He follows behind her, a good natured smile crossing his lips now. "Get it all out, your highness," he says, "And get it over with. It'll be smooth sailing moving forward."

Ford returns towards Fergus and Marian after fetching his second, or third drink? Who knows. He nods to the drink Ferg is going quick on, "Don't get too drunk out here. The instant your foot hits solid ground again.." He snaps his fingers, "You won't remember the last 12 hours." His eyes widen and his head nods, "Again...trust me."

Crossing her arms under her chest, Caelis clicks her tongue lightly. She looks to the Thraxian's aboard with a smile before raising her glass to Katarina. "To the Valardin Navy, may the sailors of Arvum help raise you up. Plenty of captains and admirals to advise." She offers chipper now that the ship is moving. A party on a ship. Looks like she won't be fleeing this one.

Dagon does end up congratulating the man on holding his meal while another passenger loses his. He hears it before he sees it, glancing over only briefly at the railing as Sasha bellies up. Despite prior commentary, he doesn't actually tease her about it. "Bound to be one or two, if you have any number of people fresh to sailing out. Some people are just sensitive to the... lack of balance?" And glancing back at Fergus, he nods. "For what it's worth, you do get used to it, or most people do readily enough. Unless the seas are especially bad." Then, on the point of armor, he notes: "Plenty go aboardships in it," as he does in that moment. "Dying to an arrow straight off is a shade worse than falling in."

Kahlana chuckles a little before she looks around the ship as she leans over the edge, to look at the water, then she bounds to the front of the ship to lean way over to watch the sea against the boat.. the Northern woman seems happy to be on her first ever boat ride. She looks over to her tribesman and she calls out to him "hey!" she says "this is great!" she grins widly as the wind pushes into her hair making her look a little more wild.

Sasha finishes loosing her lunch as it were, Rodrick offering her a hanfkerchief to freshen herself up with. Which she does before she slowly stands back up as she softly responds "I feel a bit better. Will that always happen when I come upon a ship?" Rodrick taking the soiled hankerchief and putting it somewhere. Her hands going back to rest upon Antonio's arm and gently lean against him to help her gain her sea legs.

"I have no interest in taking the pirate's life and fighting on the high seas," Marian tells Fergus with a smile, "And no...I don't recommend wearing your steel on the boat." She lightly fingers the leather vest she's wearing, "A different suit for a different setting." She looks to Katarina when she mentions games with a curious look. However, with all the conversation going on around her, she gets distracted and mentions to Ford, "It takes quite a bit of drink to fell me. I should be fine..." She gives a look to Fergus, "But even so...I won't drink much as we get deeper into the evening. Let things settle." She claps at Caelis well wishes.

Ford has left the along the stern.

Speaking of arrows, the movement of the boat makes him wince slightly, Fergus having been favoring one of the legs the past couple of days. It's enough to actually make him lean into Marian a little for support. "Right, don't get fucking smashed on a boat. Keep my number of drink down, then." he says, taking the advice from Ford. "Good point," he then adds to Dagon. "Been thinking about getting two different sets anyways. Still, arrows still seem to find their mark even when wearing the heavier shit." A glance at his leg. The man chuffs a bit in humor to Marian. "Want to see you and Freja take on whiskey. See who's left standing." No mystery that his sister is notorious for being able to put it away.

Ford wanders off and away from Fergus and Marian to join Edain and Caelis near the railing. He sets his drink on the railing and leans over, to catch a decent idea of how fast the wind was carrying them, "Not bad. Narrow hull, cuts the water pretty well. She's a fast one."

"Yes, games! Suppose all these land lovers might take ill drinking and dancing on a rocking deck. I would do delightfully." She beams at Ford. "Aye. She's light. Gonna make folk terribly ill." She says wickedly and laughs. "Get a nice strong headwind and we could make her fly I bet." She tells Ford as he joins her and Edain.

"I've heard different schools of thought on it, to be fair, and people will have their preferences," Dagon admits, just so it doesn't seem as if he's offering some dogma there. "Depends on the mission, too. Heavy boarding actions?" He shrugs. "I'd risk it. But it depends on the materials you have to choose among, naturally, and what you can manage weight-wise." A vague motion. He could discuss naval warfare all day, probably, and surely many of the Thrax would happily join in. But it is a party. "Captain," he calls, looking around to pick out Katarina again. "Toasts aside, what's our mission tonight?"

Katarina cups a hand to her mouth, calling for two crewmen to her join her out on the main deck. They bring out a stretch of pole, and the musicians start playing a catchy little number. Servants come with silver platters of fresh alcohol, and Kat is grinning like, well, a naughty cat. "I know some of you are still struggling to catch your sea legs, but this makes it all the more fun," she promises. "A little challenge of dancing limbo, with a shot to of your choice of liquor to get your courage going." She takes the first shot, while crewmembers raise the limbo bar at chest length. Easy, for most. "Who will take the first round?"

"I have no doubts your sister would best me at drinking," Marian assures Fergus with a smile and helps keep him steady on his injured leg. It seems not opting for the dress was the start thing for the night. Her eyes watch Ford head off to chat with Caelis and Edain for a second before turning back to the others in her group, "So these games...what did you have in mind Katarina?" She echoes those words just as Katarina explains what they're doing.

Kahlana looks to Katarina and she laughs, she had already been drinking and so far she was enjoying the ride, she moves closer to Kat and she smiles "I'll try!"

Antonio doesn't seem to mind letting Sasha seteady herself against him. "Maybe," he says, in response to her question, "Who can say? I've never had that problem, personally. but it'll probaby get better as you get used to it."

Katarina gets a rhythmic clap going as she stands on the opposite side of the limbo pole, a servant slightly behind with a round of liquor shots awaiting the partcipants at the end of each round. "How low can you go?" She sings with a laughter. "How far can you bend, to make it to the end? Let's see how low you go, but not hitting the floor!"

Sasha nods softly at Antonio's words before she responds "You grew up around ships though did you not Your Highness? And I think it is just something I need to adjust to. It is a very different feeling walking upon the ship than it is on dry land." As she slowly walks with Antonio towards where the limboing is as she says "I'll try. No fun for me if I just sit and watch for a limbo." A soft laugh escaping her lips before she slips away from Antonio to carefully limbo underneathe the placement of the stick at the moment.

"I probably would too. I move better in the heavier shit. At the same time, having less experience on open water, might go for lighter, because I ain't beyond admitting I could take a toss into the damn drink." Likely, the Redrain would be happy discussing warfare just as well. At least that's something he knows. "It's okay, I haven't seen her lose in drinking yet. She's put me under the table a few times. But don't tell her I said that. Give her a big fucking head to go along with her man-hands." The limbo bar is eyed. "Never a challenge I didn't try once." He finishes his drink swiftly, then clapping his hands together. "Alright. Let's do this shit." For a big guy, he's pretty flexible.

Kahlana seems to be a nimble vixen as she moves to the music and dances under the limbo stick, she laughs and she clears it as she looks around and she lifts her glass up and she dances closer to Ails "well this is intresting!"

Marian is not going to make any comments on Fergus' remarks about this sister's 'man-hands' and instead moves to do a little limbo under the stick. She bends pretty easily, being pretty flexible and then straightens up when she gets on the other side, moving to Fergus, "No bad...we both made round 1." She looks to Katarina if she should do a shot now or is it a group thing.

Ford zips under the limbo stick shortly after Marian, it's high enough that it wasn't -too- difficult, but with enough drinks and the lower it gets..

Katarina collects random liquors to pass out to the guests as they come out of the line, some a little more potent than others. All the while, she smiles sweetly as she grooves to the music and sips on her own glass of rum. (Roll luck at 8 to see if you handle your random potentcy of liquor! Add + 5 to your roll if you fail.)

Well, it seems like they have their mission no sooner than Dagon asks. He grins at Fergus as they're called from their little chat to queue up for the game. And well, the Sword of Maelstrom is another contradiction, when it comes to this particular little game. A large man in the mold of his grandfather, he nonetheless shows exactly why he bears that title still, any past failings aside, walking up to the bar and very nearly snapping over in a quick motion before rising again. "Now, where are the drinks?" Someone supplies one, and down it goes.

"Limbo? Hmmm, how hard can that be on a ship?" Caelis wonders and loosens her corset a little. Leaning side to side she looks to the shots and pole. "Alright! let's give this a go for the Lyceum." She beams and saunters up over to the pole. She shimmies under it and collects her shot glass with a smile.

"Alis?" Katarina calls after her sibling. "... Where are you going? It is just limbo!"

"Nope!" Alis will have to be dragged. Or, be much more drunk. "That's totally alright. You have fun!" See her cheerful smile.

Marian isn't daunted by the limbo stick. She has another shot, making a little face from the potency but still sailing fine and then moves in position to dance under the pole. They've lowered it a little to make it harder but she's doing just fine.

Ford has a smidge of trouble getting under the lowered stick, but manages is anyway. There's slight frown on his face. He's much more limber than this...

Kahlana smiles a little as she takes a drink and she dances under the stick once again, "woah how low... how low?" she calls out watching the others and she wabbles a little as she waits to see who may fall

"I was born for this." Fergus utters, waving for another drink. "Fire that shit up an throw it at my mouth." The drink is downed and set aside, eyeing Marian. "Ah, so we're making this another competition again? Guess I gotta start trying a bit harder." Alis' hesitancy gets a wave from him. "Ain't all risque yet. We're not even topless yet." Shaking his arms out and trying to get his injured leg to work with him, he might be ignoring the pain in an effort to keep going lower. Which he does pretty well. "Shit, didn't know my spine could bend like that."

Antonio, it would seem, has no interest in participating in any limbo competition, though he does watch the proceedings. Sasha's return is greeted with a bit of a smile. "Here is fine, no?"

One limo seems to have been enough for her. Downing her shot Caelis laughs and returns to the rail and her mead. "Oooh, corsets and limbo do not mix!" She sighs and claps for the others in time.

"It's going to be a topless competition!?" Trust Alis to twist that innocent statement from Fergus (hahaha innocent) into something else entirely. She also might be yanking Katarina's chain a little. Because it's adorable. And really, now that she's less drunk then everyone else she has an unfair advantage. Maybe the next game she'll give a try to. The least she can do is cheer on the family though. "You can do it, Marian! Oathlander pride!"

Katarina quirks her lips into a contemplative moue, grabbing a second platter to dispense to the remaining limbo players as they once again make it through. "Liquor roulette," she sing-songs with a soft laughter. She spins the platter around in her palm to make it harder for liquor people to get what they like. "Pick your shot, and let's do one more round!" (Luck @ 10 this time.)

Marian checked luck at difficulty 10, rolling 13 higher.

Fergus checked luck at difficulty 10, rolling 7 lower.

Ford after his second limbo attempt, he grabs his second drink and puts it down the hatch, moving to join Caelis at the railing.

Sasha nods softly as she says "It is indeed." Her smile only growing as she focuses her attention upon Antonio as she asks "I would attempt again, but as Lady Caelis admits, corsets and limbo do not mix and I already promised my family I would be careful and not push myself too much." Her gaze then looking to Alis with wide eyes as she comments about a topless competition, her jaw slighty dropping in shock. Her gaze then looking back to Antonio as she softly asks "Could we go somewhere I can sit perhaps? So I not over exert myself but still are able to watch?"

Marian checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 25, rolling 1 lower.

Fergus checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 30, rolling 9 lower.

Kahlana checked dexterity + athletics at difficulty 25, rolling 1 lower.

Tightening her corset again, Caelis smiles at Ford as he joins her and looks to Sasha, who's drawn the same conclusion. "And to think it's lovely weather for a nice Lycene gown!" She calls to Sasha with a laugh before looking at the men on the railing. "Should consider a mixed navy unit. Lets the men share tactics, and our joint efforts went so well with that last Gyre maneuver." She suggests before leaning over the rail with ease to take in the breeze with a sigh of relief.

Marian does the next shot and then looks at that limbo stick with determination. She gives a thumbs up to Alis who called out 'Oathlands Pride' cause she's got this. She's totally got this...she's falling. The look of surprise on her face when she falls back too much and ends up on her back is too precious. She lays there for a moment, laughing out loud and then gets up and moves to the 'losers' circle cause she's out.

Ford cups his hands to his mouth and calls out when everyone can't manage to get under the third stick, "The stick was rigged!"

Alis thinks Marian fell with -dignity- dammit, and that's what matters.

Kahlana follows after Marian and she falls on her rump as well she laughs a little and she kerplunks herself right on the ships deck... she moves slightly as she falls and she topples over into Alis, "hey sexy" she teases the woman.

Princess woman.

Whatever that next shot was, Fergus has to blink. "I feel like Mydas has been spreading around that fucking vodka again." he coughs, taking the burn of whatever that drink happened to be. No guts, no glory. Watching Marian fall, his eyes light up. This is his chance, finally to beat the Valardin at something. To get back his pride from Marian. Don't fuck it up. ...he fucks it up. He was getting there, almost under and across, but being a big has its downsides and his spine can only bend so much. Ends up in a pile of limbs on the deck. "Ah, shit." he grunts, disappointed, but at least amused.

"Come on Katarina! Win it for Valardin," Marian shouts out cause she's the only contender left to go.

Someone mentioned vodka. That wasn't his. Ford's gaze lasers in on Fergus, eyes into fine icy blue slits. But then he implied it wasn't good. Okay. Crisis averted.

Katarina checked luck at difficulty 10, rolling 18 higher.

Katarina checked dexterity + dodge at difficulty 25, rolling 14 higher.

Alis nearly chokes on her drink when Kahlana tumbles right into her, though she does her best to brace the poor woman. "Why thank you for noticing. But I would feel much better if you said that when sober, my lady." she retorts, with as much dignity as she can muster. "You fell quite well, Fergus. Never fear! We will not mock you for it later." They will.

It's all Katarina can do to stop giggling when everyone, one after the other, falls or at least bumps the stick. "That was a good effort, everyone!" She commends everyone, but then Marian's shouting for her to give the limbo round a go. She reaches for two shots, knocking them back with graceful precision before she shimmies her shoulders with Valardinesque flare, modestly of course, with a vibrant laugh. "Here I go!" She goes under, bending her back far, to get past.

Sasha checked dexterity at difficulty 10, rolling 0 higher.

Marian laughs when Katarina shows them all up for the limbo. She looks to Fergus and tells him, "I'm cut off for the rest of the night. No more." She then shouts out to Katarina, "The winner!!!" She is very amused that both her and Fergus failed at the same task together. She looks at her date, "So...I guess the only winner here is Katarina."

Sasha manages to trip over her still not sea legs but manages to recover quickly enough as she makes her way over to sit somewhere. As she leans back to completely rest, a soft smile curls her lips as she watches. Her hand reaching into her own bag to put out a fan to gently use upon herself.

"Ah, bullshit." Fergus grunts over towards Alis, getting to his feet. "Pretty sure Mari has been bragging up a storm about that spar still. One day, I'll get mine." Clapping at his pants, and then seeing Katarina take the spoils, he points. "I mean, outnumbered here." A sharp nod towards Ford. "That man has the right idea." Moving back over to Marian, he shrugs. "She did good, yeah."

"Bah, you try me at Limbo when I'm free of this corset and I'll show you how we bend in the Lyceum!" Caelis calls out with a laugh. Pausing she glances to Edain as if remembering how easy the prince blushes. "Modestly, we bend over with a by your leave and stay wholesomely clothed." She teases, mostly keeping a straight face before looking to the other ladies to cheer them for their efforts.

Ford shakes his head at Edain, "No, they don't."

Alis dimples, giving Fergus her best innocent expression. Though since he knows Marian, and that she is married to the woman's cousin, he also probably realizes that innocent expression is totally full of shit. "One day." she agrees solemnly, in a definitely challenging voice. "Goooooo Kat!!! Nice job!" she cheers for her sister, and then looks towards Caelis. "Do not forget the prayer first, before the modest bend." Because teasing her brother is a required past time.

The floor swept clean and the alcohol still free-flowing for everyone who wants one. The crew do well to take care of the path charted through the waters. And then, in the distance, a second ship looms in the distance, anchored. The Unsullied begins to loose speed as its sails are adjusted to allow the ship to simply drift with the tides. Here, the stars shine brightly overhead without the pollution of the city lights. And in a matter of moments, the faint crackling and distant boom of fireworks lighting the night sky in a kaleidoscope of color

Marian raises her hands, "I have no bragged a word to anyone." She winks over at Alis and Katarina, "I have others to do my bragging for me." She snickers and then leans against the rail nearby because the shots are starting to have their effect. Caelis' comment about getting out of her corset has her laughing harder. Then the fireworks start and the laughter dies because she's looking up at the sky and it's so pretty. She takes Fergus' hand and then pulls closer to him as she watches the night sky erupt into color.

For those of you keeping score, Edain's cheeks do color a bit at the exchange. "Oh.. this is um.. very stout mead of coures." Yes that is what's causing the flush, totally.

When the crackle of fireworks resounds in the distance, and the sky is filled with jewel-toned colors, Katarina rushes to the starboard and takes Edain by the hand to pull him along and get a good view. "Edain, look!"

A messenger arrives, delivering a message to Sasha before departing.

Kahlana pulls herself up and she smiles a bit to Alis with a little chuckle, her eyes danceing as she looks up at the fireworks and she chuckles at Caelis calling out for naked limbo and she laughs "thought only us northern folk liked to party naked." she teases back

Ford is quite content with just leaning against the rail, enjoying his drinks, and watching the fireworks. Being surrounded by a cavalcade of beautiful women isn't half bad either.

"Sure you haven't." Fergus blithely remarks to Marian. The Redrain might've had more to say on the topic, but the fireworks start and she's taking his hand. The words on his lips die off, content to watch in silence, and letting the wielder of Oathkeeper lean into him. Needless to say, he's alright with that.

The fireworks display lasts for several long moments, one explosion of vibrant color after another that slowly fizzles out to rain down on the mirrored surface of the calm seas below until the night is quiet once more.

Kahlana smiles softly as she moves over to Ford, she murmers softly to him as the fireworks shoot overhead.

"I've learned the north and south both seem to appreciate similar errrm, recreational activities." Caelis calls back to Kahlana. The fireworks draw her eye but she looks past to the stars and sighs more quietly. "Our lady, Bright Star of the Ocean, Queen of Tempests and Typhoon, grant the Valardin your secret harbors and safe waters. Calm seas, strong winds, and full sails." She breathes as the lights fizzle.

"You know," Katarina pipes up, a touch drunkenly, to her siblings and guests around her. "I don't think this night could have any more of a perfect end." Her head leans against Edain's shoulder, a rare display of sibling affection between high lord and adoptive transplant while she clings lightly onto Alis' arm, presuming the smidget is nearby.

Alis is not a midget!!!! But she is nearby. So she squeezes Katarina's arm lightly and gives her an affection filled smile. "Agreed. It's a lovely end to a lovely evening." she murmurs, with a nod of thanks toward Caelis for the prayer that's said.

Tactical sized people. Tactical. Sized.

Marian lays her head on her date's shoulder, "I agree..." She smiles over at Katarina who's with Edain and Alis. There's quiet look of pride at her family that may not be of blood but they definitely fill her heart by life's connections that have tied them together. At Caelis' prayer, she looks over at her and smiles. She looks up at Fergus and tells him softly, "Now would be a perfect time to kiss me."

Kahlana grins as she sways as she holds onto the rail as she grins widly and speaks to Ford she wobbles a little as she has lost herself in her cups, the wild woman looks happy!

Once the show has met its conclusion, The Unsullied is reversed in the tightest of turns to return back to port with the cries of crewmen dispensing commands amongst themselves ringing through the early night. Once returned to shore, the anchor is dropped and the gangplank lowered as the small adventure comes to an end.

Fergus is quiet, deciding that for once he doesn't need to say anything to really enjoy something. Even respectfully nodding at the prayer, even if he himself doesn't take part in it. "Good night." he finally says once the fireworks die down. "Thanks for letting me take part." And like a good little date, Marian asks, and she'll receive, pulling her into the kind of kiss that she was looking for.

Katarina gives a gentle tug of Alis' arm when she espies out of the corner of her eye Marian and Fergus locking lips under the starlight. She squees silently, bouncing on her toes between her elder siblings with flushed cheeks.

Kahlana giggles and she looks over the kiss and the fireworks she smiles at the romance between Fergus and Marian, she grins and she wobbles and finally she sits down
