Sometimes, it is the unspoken words that ring the loudest and mean the most...

...and are the ones you wish you could say.

Relationship Note on Edain

The Prince of Sanctum is interesting. One of the people I find on the interesting side. I rather enjoy the message exchanges. Not quite as tolerable as the Prince of Maelstrom, though.

The tide she rises, bringing waves of salt to dizzying peaks
Within the tempest's squall, unseen and battered,
Thrall to the majestic, intemperate beauty of Mangata's fury
I fall, cast unto the sea, adrift

You rise from the depths,
Waves at your command
Hands steady, feet planted
Anchored

Where once there was only the rise, the fall
The sense of drifting, ceaseless tides
Now there is you, my center, holding
My shelter through the storm

You know who you are.

I'm rooting for your steady recovery, sword. There won't be any to rematch if you wind up dead and I'll be mighty pissed if that ends up coming to pass.

Relationship Note on Niamh

I keep trying to think of what to write, I probably have started this so many times. I don't know what to say..to write.. to do. There are people I have looked up to as I grew up. My brother Fia and our cousin Marian but also you, Niamh. Then when we were under siege you found me at the training area at Telmar and you gave me the house sword to defend the city with, to defend the innocents and those within the wall as well as protect those we swore to protect. You gave me that sword and told me that I should have it during the fight. I had never been so shocked in my life that you would trust me with something so important. When you handed it to me I felt the weight of the responsibility you gave me and I felt the comfort of your trust.

All of those things run through my mind. Watching you fight, watching you ride up when we were coming back from Alis and Fia's wedding. The warrioress you were and the legend (at least to me) you will always be.

Even though all that, the things I remember most? Your smile, the way you laughed. The fact that you let your cousin hang out in your room with your friend instead of telling me to go away. The patience you had at times, the infinite love you had for our family.

I lost so much more than a cousin. This world lost so much more than a fighter.

I love you Niamh. May the afterlife be kind to you, may your soul shine as brightly as it did here on this world.

Relationship Note on Niamh

Lady Niamh Greenmarch
Sword of Greenmarch
Knight of Valardin
Champion
Knight and Found of the Order of the Golden Dragon
Cousin

They are all the titles I knew you by, but none of them do you justice. When Fiachra and I teach our children about the heroes of our people, your name will feature brightly among them. You, who stood for the innocent and championed justice, and stood as a beacon against the dark. And they will also know that you were beloved by all who really knew you. That your smile could brighten a day, and your wit and ferocity during battle could turn a tide. We will all miss you. But you will never be forgotten.

I am still here. Any rumors of me being on Death's door are false. But as any warrior knows, it's best to heed the orders of your healer if you wish to get back on the field sooner. So please forgive my current absence from social activities.

The forest continues to remain in a sad state. A decree has gone across the lands that forbids people from venturing out into the wooded lands. People are turning up missing and being hunted out there! There are people working on making the forest safe again. Until then, I will continue my efforts in developing a compost project for the blighted lands. This is going to take a lot of effort and planning. The land is vast that has been affected. I need to think of something..

Relationship Note on Fortunato

Originally, I was thinking about sending Master Fortunato a useless trinket for introducing a rather interesting conversation across the Journals yesterday evening - a raven paperweight. Now, for all the talk of food, I am going to send over a few fowl for the Murder's cook-pots.

Not carrion birds, no. No one should have to eat crow.

I have been out and about since restocking my inventory, taking the next day to run a classified declaring such and then using the rest of the time to shop for more supplies, materials I'll need for commissions I've got to get done-

(-on a side note, if there are any enamelists in the Guild, the vendor in the marketplace with the new banner? Furthest from the fountain? They have an -exquisite- array of reds but they're sensitive to heat, be sure you use them for the last few firings and not a firing more, it turns brown-)

-I came back to my shop that evening to find a rather haggard looking assistant leaning against the counter looking like he was about to faint. After making sure he wasn't cursed with some kind of illness, I got him to sit and tell me all about this trauma etched into his face.

Turns out, after I'd listed my classified, word got around quickly (or perhaps someone's been bribed at the crier's office?) and a, I'm quoting this, "stampede of princesses with lust and murder in their eyes" swept into my shop with all the power of a hurricane and cleared me out not once, but -twice-.

I sent the poor boy home. He'd done great work, I wouldn't have known it for walking into the shop, the place was immaculate, but the receipts and accounts proved his story true. Goodness.

To all of those that enjoy my work: thank you, I am, as ever, humbled by your patronage. The Crafters Guildmaster can have no official patron and the funding in the accounts for the guild are not meant for me. The coin I make is only for my living and materials to continue to make that living. I appreciate every one of you.

Yes. Even -you-.

So many thing to write about I have fallen behind in my writings.

I have recently learned to shoot a bow, I know I am suppose to be a diplomat and I am do not fear that but I also wanted a way to protect myself and my loved ones should something happen. I am not a expert but I do plan on getting better if there should be someone out there willing to help me.

I have found myself not being as shy around people I see everyday that in its self is a miracle.

I have also found myself drawn to Mangata's shrine a lot as of late, I find sitting and watching the fish in the pond to be very relaxing. I feel safe there, I feel safer there then I do in a lot of places in Arx.

I found myself in the middle of the attack on the king, everything happened so fast, I was there with Dutchess Tyde, Duke Grimhall and Prince Abbas Thrax. I was hurt but not like some who was in the thick of fighting and we even lost someone.

So I think I have caught everyone up for the moment.

By Mangata's silvered veil!

I certainly don't eat any dead flesh.
Fruits, veggies, grains, and dairy.

On another note, haven't we had enough murder in our city?
Why do we need to act it out?
I'm sorely disappointed as my last attendance to the Black Rose Theater wasn't one to fondly recall, save for my date with Whisper Nisaa. I wish we had plays of love and romance and things that aren't about death.

I'm opposed to eating birds myself. You would be too if you could understand them like I do.
I understand people have to eat and often there isn't a choice but what they catch.
Wild ravens though? They're pretty filthy.
They eat on dead flesh.
You would then be eating their dead flesh.
Consuming it that can cause the four humors to fall out of alignment.
Sometimes that is their last laugh.
I wouldn't recommend it.

Fun fact about both crows and ravens: both are delicious when prepared properly. There's no deeper meaning than that. I just like eating well-prepared animals. This has been your bird facts, with Audric. Have a wonderful evening!

Relationship Note on Selene

Oh Selene, a sweet summer breeze on a cold and dreary day. She smells of roses and something delicious. I can't quite put my tongue on it, it was truly a pleasure. We will no doubt be seeing more of one another, and one another more often. The young Radiant reminds me of a particular goddess but that's between us isn't it now oh white journal. Surely no one would be interested in reading what I had to say about Marquis Kennex pool party. Next time, I won't lose to Regi because I will have Selene's fortifying favor to carry with me into battle. Hopefully, if I play my cards right...yes....yes.

A crow is a lot higher pitched when they voice their calls.

A raven is a low throated sound, like a gronk-gronk croooak.

Interesting fact, a crow's tail is fan-shaped and a raven's is wedge-shaped.

Fortunato is right about their socializing behaviors. Ravens are more cautious.

You know what's really interesting? A crow's life span is usually around the 8 year mark, while a raven can last upwards of 30 years! Imagine their intelligence. If you want a smart bird, a raven is the way to go.

Raven's are also larger than a crow, and their feathers have a wet look to them and gleam blue or purple. The right trainer can also get a Raven to learn to understand what you're telling them. Crow's take a bit more effort.
