Relationship Note on Tobias

Boy, do not think you know what kind of man I am or where my skill and knowledge of war start and end. I was bathe in blood while you were still in your diapers shitting and pissing on yourself. My first kill came long before I was ten and I have led men across province to province, carving out my reputation on their corpse. If you think a thing like a land is enough to hold the nightmare that I embody, well, you have much to learn and count yourself lucky that we have yet to find ourselves on opposite sides. You think you know war? Fighting mountainfolk and scavengers. You don't know jack. I will help you decide which part of the fence you are, fuck the silver we could make. I am Alrec Magaldi, dread of the Darkwater Deep and a boy ain't going to presume that I do not how to fight. No matter who your old man is. Learn some respect, I was nothing but respectful of your command and did not hold your tender age against you. In the contrary the only reason I approach your company was out of admiration for what you had build with daddy's silver. Stay in your fucking lane.

Relationship Note on Viktarkim

Lady Dawn's protector, a prodigal shav with fists of iron. I don't often pay someone for kicking my ass, but anyone who can best me in a fight deserves at least enough to afford a bottle or two or twenty of fine Northland whiskey.

Relationship Note on Tobias

I don't know the General particularly well, but he strikes me as an interesting man. It's curious, he and his band of mercenaries, they have this sort of mysterious intrigue about them. Though I'm more curious about how well-trained they are. Brawl, anyone? I'm game.

Weaponsmith who made my bow and sword. She does good work and recommended others who do armour. Seemed friendly.

Jeweler, very friendly. Doesn't hold her alcohol well at all. She is helpful if I have questions of her.

Courtier, works for House Grayson at least in part to serve the Lady Dawn. A very refined man full of many questions. I do not know what I think of him as yet.

Prince and Sword of House Grayson. I bested him also in brawling at House Redrain and he too took it well. Otherwise I have no idea what sort of man he may be, yet.

Prince, Head of House Redrain. Man has a fist like a brick shit house though I bested him in brawling. I do not know the noble Prince well but he is friend to the Lady Dawn. He took his defeat at my hands well and then paid me handsomely.

Relationship Note on Alrec

Anyone with a brain would know I didn't just disappear into thin air during the last five years. Suffice to say I've met men like Alrec before, and I can safely say that I'm on the fence about this one. Sure, he's offering services I find valuable, but it's the arrogance underneath that which worries me. Hopefully he realizes his limitations with time and exposure to actual ground mercenaries. Leading a naval fleet is not even close to the same as leading a Battalion of disciplined mercenaries for land based warfare and escorts.

Relationship Note on Luca

My most beloved and wonderful brother, Prince Luca, can only be described as fantastic and devoted (and the first two descriptors, if one must get technical, and perhaps all the synonyms). His very presence in a room brings me a sort of unparalleled joy that I have trouble explaining. I would challenge anyone in Arx, be it man or beast, to prove otherwise and fight him. Just... in a month or two. I think he was rewarded with a hiatus.

Relationship Note on Tobias

What an interesting man, Lord Tobias Telmar is. His company of mercenary is exactly what merchants need. A man cut from the same cloth as I, though a bit younger than I expect, shows a lot of promise in regard to martial business. My favorite part about him, other than his humble respect and discipline, is that he is a man driven by silver like myself and that makes things a lot easier. I hate the parlay and appreciate the simple nature of our relationship. May the winds blow in his favor. I am excited to see where the Lord takes his company.

The Redrains hosted a brunch which, in stereotypical Redrain fashion, included a significant amount of punching. I attended expecting a racuous good time and I was not disappointed. I'm not much of a fist-fighter, to be honest, so I was apprehensive. But the whisky was flowing and friendly boasts and wagers were made so I had little choice! I somehow managed to best my opponents until I was one of two men standing. It was myself and some shav that is apparently serving the house. Vik-something. He had already downed Prince Darren and he made quick work of me as well. No shame, however!

I met Princess Deva, the Voice of Redrain and we arranged to go hunting at some point. Also, I seem to be missing a shirt. I think Princess Isolde stole it. I don't remember why...a sure sign of a good party.

The Velenosa dinner was a splendid affair. Appropriately decadent, as one would expect. There was a boar, and a chocolate boar heart. I don't much see the sense in covering a boar heart with chocolate, but to each their own I suppose. I do find it a terrible tragedy that Ophelia did not eat it with her hands, as she should've. But I'm impressed she didn't throw it back up.

It was good to see so many in attendance, all from different Houses. Except for the Valardians, I noted. Perhaps they don't like eating dinner or drinking wine, as much as they do not like drinking whiskey or fighting. Oh well, more for me, I suppose.

I have to say, Princess Isolde was the highlight of the evening, and I was happy to entertain her.

There was one man there, though, that I've never seen before..

The Rose of Tor, this is what they call me here in Arx. I would be lying if I said I did not like the nickname. It is part of my family's sigil and anyone who knows anything about Tor knows about our roses. To be dubbed 'The Rose' is a great honor even if I do come with a stem full of thorns. I am always intrigued by who is brave enough to tend to my garden without protection.

Don't ever ask me to play beach-ball again. I'm simply not doing it. I got covered in sweat, coated in sand and someone tried to pulverise my face.

What would the Radiant think if she saw me now?

Catastrophe.

I opened the doors of my estate to my Vassals, and my Vassals' Vassals. I opened them, too, to my friends outside the Lyceum. I protect and serve the South, but I protect and serve more than the South, too -- I protect the Compact. We are, all of us, partners in unity, and it will be a unity we must fight to protect. We must dig in our nails and fight harder than we have had to fight in a very, very long time. Oh, but the dinner was nice. There was boar.
