Incredibly proud of how hard you've worked for the House and our family. Now adding this new title of Professorship on top! I know you'll work incredibly hard at that role too and pass the knowledge you've gained on to so many others.

The first chance they get, the silk puts a sword into the hand of their children.
They teach them how to kill. How to keep what generations before have taken.
First lesson among commoners, however, is how not to die.
I suppose that's why there's so few farmers or masons in the Hall of Heroes.

I am so very happy to welcome my dear friend to her new role with the Apothecary College! She was one of my very own tutors, once upon a time, so I know she will be a fantastic teacher to our students.

I saw a testing for the Explorers. It was all I was eager to see, also not what I thought it was. It made me want to do my own test and see what I can come up with. A true testing of one's skills.

I received a---toddler sized bow for Lina from Sister Esme. She has always understood how I was raised, up to a point I think. And how my children will be raised. Calo had received a dagger when he was born. Then he was sent a mini horse. Needless to say, my children will be raised the perfect mix between their parents.

I feel honored to be asked to teach at the Apothecary College. I really am truly excited to teach what I know, to join the ranks of others that know even more. Here's to another busy chapter. I couldn't be any more elated.

I'm not sure how much I trust a person that doesn't drink. Although, they will probably be able to remember where you tied the horse.

It has been a grueling year. The attack on Bastion and its subsequent reclamation has been a process. The aftermath of such things even more so. Many horrors were encountered along the way, many of them gruesome and unbelievable, but true and real all the same. It has taken me this long to put my head on right, but I think I'm finally coming out on the other side of the darkness that swallowed me in the aftermath of the reclamation.
Hopefully.
In the meantime, I've poured everything that I am into the research regarding the weapon that was taken from Grayhold's crypts. We've made a few discoveries, some more puzzling than others. We don't have all of the answers yet but there are a few leads that we might be able to try. I guess this is where we start to put boots on the ground and see what more we can discover through action.
I can't say that I am wholly ready for this but it is a thing that must be done, for the safety and protection of all. The Traitor won't stop. Nor should we. We must persist if we are to ever ensure our survival.

Oh, how I wish you were here dearest sister. How I have a need to bend your ear and seek your advice, but I know you are off on grand adventures for the Faith and would not pull you away from them. You are loved and missed and I wish for all of the world that you might stay safe.

Unfinished
An artist wracked by indecision
The words stumbled and stalled
Whenever he touched quill to hide
Some other delight called
A massive feast
A brilliant ball
A poignant play
He did them all
He grew in fame, a socialite
His name was known by all
But not for his artistry, no:
His intolerance to alcohol!
But he never did finish that poem
Despite all the words he penned
The elusive twist of words
He would never write the...

Autumn is such a beautiful time of year. That time of transition that brings with it a new and fresh magic to the world. I often think that the between times are the best. That tingling sense of anticipation mixed with the rich pleasures of the present. Truly the best of both worlds.

I had a steel long blade that Dame Ida crafted many years ago. It was named Wings of Twilight and it was my most cherished sword. Count Blanchard used it in a battle and a few others had borrowed the sword. Then it served me in my own battles. It was broken on the mercy ship when it was boarded. I managed to recover its two halves, but it will be retired. Dame Ida has out done herself with the blade that she has forged for me in its place. I will have Wings From the Ashes to serve me well going forward.

Your quick thinking proved to be quite valuable. I know that sometimes the burdens of command may not be what you wish, but somehow when they do fall on your shoulders you not only rise to the occasion, you thrive.

It's a rare person who can both speak with understanding and empathy, and yet still show how narrow your thinking may be. I am grateful for all the questions he has posed to make me think in ways I had not before.
