The Greenmarch Family continues to prove to be a never ending supply of surprises, and all of them pleasant. People of honor and passion, they are a happy contrast to the normally dour, buttoned up members of the northern lands I call home. They know perfectly who they are, and are comfortable in their skins, and the differences between they and I create for a refreshing dose of change.
House Telmar is fortunate to have them in the fold, and I look forward to meeting more of their members and learning more of the ones I've already had the privilege of spending time with.

Back in the city, back to normal life. It's amazing how you can bounce back, isn't it? Running about, getting into scraps. Ran into Lady Regent Dawn and her adorable hound at the Ambassador.
Took on some more business for the Society and had a surprisingly pleasant and not at all disturbing lunch with Legate Orazio.
Had Serafine over for a lovely private brunch! No towels were harmed.
Now I have about ten billion dispatches to get through and training exercises and troop discipline to sort out. It's amazing how much work can pile up. I can't even imagine what Vincere is facing at the Ministry. I'm surprised Lady Regent Dawn can even find him in there under all those papers and envelopes and that surprising accumulation of pens.

Relationship Note on Fiachra
The Grenmarch House has yet to disappoint in having the most interesting cast of family members. The latest one I met was Lord Fiachra Greenmarch. His easy going nature and straight forward manner is a continued breath of fresh air, and I am left in little doubt as to the honor and duty he holds in high regard when it comes to family and household.

In his absence this past year I have felt spread thin. Pulled in too many directions and had my focus strained and demanded at every turn.
And now that he has returned, for good it looks like, I find myself able to hone in and focus on what is most important to me again. Our soldiers have never been more well trained. My goals never more focused or aligned. I feel like myself again.

Relationship Note on Serafine
Spent most of my day doing strength training with Serafine.
The more I'm around her, the more I absolutely adore her. We shared stupid stories, gross stories, hilarious ones. We compared notes on a multitude of things.

Delightful woman. A proud warrior Princess and Knight of her realm. Sparred her today, and she used a flail, a weapon I see very little of in the North, and used it well. An excellent bout, and I hope to fight her again.

Relationship Note on Valencia
I've seen Princess Valencia out and about on a few of my dining excursions now, it seems she likes to try out the various meals served around the capital nearly as much as I do. As we share a common city of origin of course I'm quite happy to spend the time in her company, although I'm sure that it's not at all necessary as she's doing quite well with the Redrains by all measures that I can see.

I went to visit Master Gavin today.
He offered to go for a walk and we went to the beach where he had prepared a picnic. We ended spending the day there.
I like the beach and the sea. It's relaxing and calm... Although I think it's just because I'm seing it from afar, I don't think I'd like to be in a ship.

With the return to Arx, I am reminded of other duties. Helping slay the Beast of Sanctum met my oaths to Greenmarch and Valardin, but it opened my eyes to other needs as well. As Minister of Agriculture, I can already see that the presence of these foul creatures stains the ground where they have been. We will need to find a way to cleanse the corruption.
I'm going to need to find foresters, alchemists, priests and shamans to help with this. And I thought my life as a minister was going to be nothing more than deciding whether or not to fund the wainright's new wagon business.

There is a lot of bad blood between the Fidantes and my house for obvious reasons, but the more we delve in to the causes behind it the more determined I am to make peace with them. We are unified in a common goal.
The duke has a good grasp of tactics, as I would expect, and a sound head. He is also more capable with his family's blade than I would have anticipated but I forget he is a man of both words and deeds.
One of those deeds I feel I owe him a debt for and it's not what he did in that tained hell-grove outside Greenmarch.
