We must be as thankful as we are for our successes as we are for our failures. Only through experience do we evolve and through growth are we able to better the world.

May I remember to be humble and have an open heart on correction given to me, and may the gods bless the one who stands up to provide correction for surely they are their brother's keeper. May I be wise enough to learn from others mistakes so that I might use their footsteps rather than blaze another trail going the same way.

Relationship Note on Marian

I am so very pleased for you, Princess Marian! That your daughter is here is a blessing for us all, and I am charmed by your poem to announce her arrival. Princess Ellara has the first of her boon companions and I hope it is not too presumptuous to hope that my Squall might be an addition to what will likely be a formidable pair of Princesses.

Welcome Princess Nia of Redrain, there is a whole world of love waiting to embrace you and see you succeed.

Relationship Note on Marian

An aunt for the second time, and honored to be Speaker for Princess Nia Imogen Redrain, affectionately known as Bert (to me, and no one else). I cannot imagine, though my sister has fought many a heroic battle worth of high praise, that I should ever be more proud of her than I am at the birth of Princess Nia.

I suppose Prince Fergus did all right, too.

Spring and summer. I have seldom left the manor of late, in part because Nara needs me, but also because I've had an oddly lethargic turn of my energies. It's bothersome because I don't want to lose touch with what's going on around me, and I can't serve the people of the March or the city if I am distant from all of the goings on. But I am having moments where motivation is difficult.

Is the right answer to throw myself into my duties as one might be thrown into the river to learn to swim? I suppose so. It's also been ages since Deepwood has held any kind of social function, so perhaps it might be time for one. I suppose there's an ever present worry about people showing up. Speaking to others and communicating ideas is my forte. I need improvement in the art of hostessing.

A little Redrain cub was born today.
On the auspicious fourteenth of May.
My reddish locks with her father's dark eyes.
Who roared with anger instead of sweet cries.
Our little warrior princess with tight grip.
Who gulps her milk rather than petite sips.
Lady Bright, Our Girl Maiden, Nia Imogen.
Our contribution to the next generation.

Relationship Note on Dianna

The Scolding Niece, that is the one I meant my other Darling Niece.

Also, I shall terrorize whoever I please! The house staff occasionally deserve it. Honestly I think it amuses them to get me all blustery, and then bribe me with food. Or good drink.

Relationship Note on Joscelin

There is no greater compliment than to render our beloved Guildmaster Joscelin near speechless. To have delighted one of the most ingenious crafters I have ever known is even beyond that. Thank you, my dearest friend, for trusting me with such a wide-open gift of crafting what I felt, especially considering the import of the project. I'm both honored and thrilled they are so kindly received!

Relationship Note on Eirlys

On the subject of family, you, my dear Lady Eirlys Greenmarch, are certainly that to me. Your description of Lady Shae is spot on. She is very much a ray of Sunshine, I have described her that way myself, many a time. Some might think I mean only that she is warm, comforting and can be as sweet as the first rays of sunlight on your face in the Spring. But she is also as fierce as the unrelenting rays, can be as punishing to her foes as a desert heat. She is also as reliable as that great star that rises without fail each dawn to banish the dark.

Lady Shae is a wonder, and a gift. And for more than her presence in our lives, but also in the friends she has brought to Keaton. You, Lady Eirlys, Princess Alis and Prince Fiachra. Marquis Gaston. All of you have become known to us because of Shae and each and every one of you is a blessing.

As to witnessing Squall's birth, well. I shall have to discuss this with Kael and think on it. I am nervous, this I will admit. As the time grows ever nearer, I find that my knowledge of medicines and how things can go so very wrong is a hindrance of sorts. Perhaps having those I feel close to will help ward off those frightening thoughts. I still must see who I can find to be the midwife, there is less time than I think and so very much left to do.

To see the bees buzzing once more about the garden, the scent of Fire in the air, and so many blooms to be beheld. It is hard to believe that it has been a year since I came to reside in Arx. How things have changed in such a short time, and how many yet remain the same.

As reported by Carissa:

Ask the Queen-Elf if there's any fucking elven importance to a total spontaneous Lagoma-lady-of fire-damned clue why blackout. Again. This is the second fucking time it's happened... They like nighttime and darkness and shit so maybe there's an elven thing to it?

As sent:
Your radiant majesty, as long lived as you and your peoples are, have you ever heard of such an event as a spontaneous eclipse? I know your people tend to favor night and the darkness so are there elven significances to such a thing?

With respect

Relationship Note on Ida

If you've ever a need for weaponry of a particular intimate caliber, I'm proud that we have so many in the Crafters Guild that can offer such skill.

But I am biased, I'm afraid.

She's given me a gift, my Ida, to express my heart and I gave her complete reign to do as she felt inspiration guided her.

I'm beyond delighted. I am speechless.

Thank you, my beloved friend. They are perfect.

Time is getting closer to travel North, and I just noticed, talking with a woman, that I'll need to leave the mice in the city too.
Somehow, it worries me much more than leaving the children...

Dearest Uncle --

You must be more specific as to which niece. There are so many of us, and more than one of us in Arx now, to fuss over you so diligently. Or scold you for terrorizing house stewards, as the case may be.

Do not terrorize the house stewards.

What the Countrss has achieved marks a deep change in Riven, forever. Ten thousand more Prodigals sworn to the Twainfort, from any number of tribes. They are our people now, and what does that leave Riven? A confederacy of tribes, a County of Deepwood full of Shavs? Both?

The world changes, and we keep up or fall behind.

On another thought, though beside those that I have talked to, I still have many faces to check up one, but it seems one in the family has dissapeared from the social life. I am sure that Asher will appear again soon, but still It's unnerving when you cannot locate a memeber of the family. I hope that Asher will show up, and show up well. Least someone may need to start looking for him.

While I've had my things I have needed to work on, it's good to know that my family is doing well. Magpie says he and his wife are alright, and I met the new member of our family Mayir. An interesting day to say the least. It was nice to talk to two of my cousins. It's nice to see Grayhope growing. I hope our family continues to work as a whole on this growth.
