Relationship Note on Cristoph

I know that my ideas on things are different, my lord, but you'll find that if you humor me and allow me to show you my point of view; we will be fast allies. In expanding Lyonesse holdings, we expand yours as well and offer up the Oathlands the opportunity to flourish under the helm of our direction. I hope our upcoming conflict will bear fruit as well, perhaps giving up a much needed victory and vital information.

Relationship Note on Julea

I'm always running into Julea at the training center, and she introduced herself a flamesmith, which is a way cooler way to say blacksmith than I've ever heard. She has one of the best, most coolest weapons I've ever seen. It was diamondplate!! She suggested we spar more, and I'm pretty sure she's gonna embarrass me. The littlest blades always take me apart the fastest.

When I started on my journey, I did not expect that I would find love here. Aside from those that I loved already that were waiting for me, I was coming for business, to be with my best friend and confidant, and somebody that I love dearly. That was the arrangement, and I was content to know that at the very least I would have Calista and Juliet waiting for me. I would also see, of course, Angelo, Leo, and Dante. All of them are dear to my heart, in their own way.

What I didn't expect was that I would meet a woman and fall in love anew. It was eye opening, and when I met her I never imagined that I would feel for her as I do now. I always knew that I would take a wife, rather than a husband, and I'm beginning to hope that I've found my future partner. Things are still new and young and I don't know what the future brings, but I'll dedicate so much of it to making her happy, and someday... calling her mine. I wasn't looking for marriage material, but now that the idea has entered my mind, I can't get it out.

Relationship Note on Esera

The ArchDuchess terrified me, but in the best of ways. She possessed a certain aura that's painstakingly hard to define. In all of the times our paths had crossed, she commanded a presence that lingered in your mind, filled up a room, and invited thoughts to freely wander to darker corners. She was one of the only people I've encountered that could force me to hold a breath simply with the cut of her smile. This tragedy left poignant wounds in those who loved her that were left behind, but she created unmistakable memories simply by those who witnessed her. She was an incredible woman. Masterful, really.

Relationship Note on Jael

The Lady Laurent has proven to be a most humorous acquaintance. Ever the optimist, I think, but this is a quality in short supply these days, but in heavy demand. So too is her sense of humor strong, her willingness to try new things. Her attempt at the Gauntlet was admirable. We are lucky to count her as one of us in the greater family that is Valardin, and I only hope that she doesn't wither away after seeing my painting in the Valardin dining room.

Reunited with kin. It's astounding after so many years apart, growing into adults that we all fit so comfortably back together as if not even a day had passed. My passion might be in the ocean, but my heart clearly still lives with them, for in their company I feel the warmest.

Relationship Note on Cassius

As a note to myself, I must remember to someday find what I did to first inspire the Duke Pravus to doubt me and then what I later did to change his mind. I can say I have only ever been myself around the man, and there are always those who hate me or love me. The man himself, however, is a good one that protects our Compact and loves his wife. That is a man that I admire.

The new Dominus is a man like none other. He is warm and kind and he truly cares about every soul in the Compact. I believe the leadership of the Faith could not have chosen a better Voice of the Gods, nor one who embodies them so well.

Met with my brother today at the shop, he seems to be doing well. I did have to threaten him a little to keep him out of trouble, but then what are sisters for. Walked into the city central to pick up some fabric I am most likely not going to use in some time, the white silks are so pretty and quite hard to pass up, besides what sort of artisan would I be if I left the inexpensive silks alone? As I was looking over the silks, I was run over by a large burly northerner, sent me flailing down, and freeing my silks from my arms. I was lucky however, as Lady Leta caught them mid air in a feat that would had wowed even the greatest courts.

I needed that. To simply be, without expectations or lies. Without misunderstandings, promises unfulfilled, or false pretenses. I have missed dining with friends, those I do not have to watch what I say or do for fear that I will be judged. My friends know what I am, they know my faults, and they seek me out still because of them. So thank you for the salmon.

Relationship Note on Atrid

I met a distant cousin today, he is a lovely man. His mother was a cousin I think, to my father? He's come to the city to seek his fame and fortune, and true love. As I said, he's a lovely man, even if his dreams are loftier than most!
