Joscelin won the guildmaster title of the crafter's guild. I feel confident in that we are finally heading into the right direction so much in fact that even motions to put a working regency on the throne are coming around. The people are winning. I love my King and I know that if he had a voice he would agree that we need to move forward, mend the wounds of paranoia and come together as multiple peoples to ensure the free soceity. I was promoted to the role that is best described as Voice of the guild and I could not feel more proud of my station. I can now finally use my experiences and skills to ensure that the commoner class will be taken cared of.

I am officially out of the Hundred Cities and properly within Malvici Hall. Now, I am quite pleased for the move, though there is still some construction going on, and I'll have a severe need for decoration only all too soon. I do, however, miss meals prepared as I ask for them, or wine brought to my room when I request it. I, gods, I even miss Cook.
My morning jog happened to take me past the Hundred Cities, and I saw him standing outside, having a smoke. His eyes were sad. On my way back, I decided to stop in, and asked him to make me porridge.
I learned a valuable lesson: sentiment can only be stretched so far. Making people happy brought me a certain kind of joy, but I sure as the day is long don't care to make a fucker happy at my own choking expense.
I'm also the Sword of Southport, now.

Late one night just this week past, I remembered how lovely it was to bring a smile to someone's face through but a simple gesture. So I sent a gift to the Voice of Thrax - the reasons being my own. I've never had much of a chance to interact with her heavily, though I have seen and spoken to her several times. She strikes me as a strong and level-headed woman.

The lad who decided to ink my autograph into his chest returned to show off the finished product. Looked good, really good. My regards to the fine fellow who did the work - reminds me of the illumination work the Scholars perform. I bought him lunch and regaled him with tales from my time in the Lyceum and I could tell it made the young man's day.
And it was nice.
In other news, my pupils are coming along nicely. Those who, in the summer, worried me with their lack of enthusiasm or true skill have been winnowed out. It's a distinct loss of coin, but I'm finding the work to be enjoyable again. I may even have a few more soon, older, who wish to work on an one-on-one basis.

Relationship Note on Edain
Sometimes I forget how the Tragedy has taken a toll on us all. I push it out of my mind. Today, Prince Edain Valardin, thanked me for the loss of my father. It ripped open a wound I am still mending. A small reminder we are all still mending, I should be more forgiving of. I am not the only one who has had a loss. If we cannot stand together what else do we have left?

Relationship Note on Tenebrae
Her family comes from Abandoned tribes as mine. I felt connection very qucikly even if our families are so different. She comes from a family of pirates and we have always been more... land pirates, I would say. Of course, that doesn't help to get rid of those silly rumors which hurt our reputation. However, let the city whisper! I am just happy that I may have found a friend.

Looking at it logically, the last thing in the world I need is a puppy.
My brother has returned to Ashford Keep to tend to our father, leaving me to act as Voice of Ashford in Arx. Aside from family business, I've got personal research to work on relating to about three different matters, I have the Explorer's Society to finalize, and honestly, if I'm acting for Ashford, we really should have a proper house for the family here within the city walls.
The last thing in the world I need is a puppy to train, to housebreak, and to teach how to defend a camp and keep watch in the wilderness. It's one more thing to do when I'm already busy.
On the other hand, puppies.
So, of *course* I am going to take Lady Dawn up on her offer of a puppy from the Grayson kennels.
It's not as if there was really any question.

I was diplomatic tonight. I went to a party. I even bothered to wear one of my nicer coats (the one without any of the scrubbed out blood stains). And lo and behold, I had a good time. Mostly because there was free liquor and drinking games. I met the Redrain prince and princess and we got along perfectly. Mostly because we were tougher than the entire bar and drank everyone under the table. I even beat the prince and lord Damon.
My head is going to regret it but it was political and shit. I've made new friends and I'm going to enjoy having drinking buddies that can hold their liquor like real soldiers. The Redrain are tough fuckers and good to have on our side.

Relationship Note on Freja
Princess of the Redrains; met her in a drinking contest and she edged me out by minor fraction. If friendships aren't made on the battlelines, they're just as well forged in bars. I'm going to enjoy being around her and her brother Anze, I know it. They're soldiers first and nobles second, just the way I like them.
